The XU Engine
The XU engine was fitted to a lot of 306's throughout its production. 5 variants of the engine were used in the 306 ranging from the smallest in the range, the 1.8L 16 valve (XU7JP4) to the range topping 2.0L 16 valve 167bhp GTi/Rallye engine (XU10J4RS).
All Petrol engines 1.8L and above form a part of the XU range and any questions regarding these should be posted here. If you have a smaller petrol engine like the 8 valve 1.6L, this comes under the TU range which is where you should post your engine related questions.
If your engine runs on diesel then there is two ranges of engine used in the 306, both of which can be found on the main forum page under the 'XUD' or 'HDi' heading. Any diesel related questions should be posted under one of these sections depending on which engine you have.
