Silent coat makes a big difference but you can use cloud 9 in a lot of places!
You won't regret them focal comps. I've got them in the back of mine and they are great!

Yeah I thought as much. Getting some Cloud 9 too but don't know if I can afford it at the moment!
Yeah I know they're awesome, put some in the Audi years ago and currently have them in the '6.

Shiny shinies
Greasy not so shinies
Fronts:
Rears:
Lip taking a bit of a bashing
Now to bed them in, 100 miles on their softest (bouncy bouncy) setting. Looking forward to having a play with the damping, but it already handles awesomely

Looking fantastic mate. Every time I open this it makes me wish I still had mine!
Love the mirrors.
Only concern is, spending this much money on bits, how secure is it? A chap lost his key and immobiliser thing at a Nutz meet and we had his car going in about 10 minutes, they are shockingly easy to get into

Don't tell everyone that haha. It's not really too much of an issue, as it's never left anywhere dodgy, or where I can't keep an eye on it. It's kept on a gated drive, the only place that does slightly concern me is when it's at my partners... May look into sorting security though.

Ive just bought an NRG Slim boss, then getting that D1 snap off boss i was speaking about the other day so that the wheel isn't too far out, i really want a deep dish steering wheel but i think that may mean i will be able to steer with my chin it will be that close.
The Fibreglass seems to be going well, did you not want to go down into the dip aswell? or you keeping that for the jack

That sounds likie a good plan mate. Yeah I'm the same as you, plus I love the Prototipo! Will look into those NRG ones
Yeah it's getting there, put another layer on before I came in too. One more I reckon and then I'll make up the MDF front. Nah I decided not to, as there'd be nowhere to put it otherwise... So just went over the top. Then I'll just velcro the box in or come up with another quick release plan.

Look forward to seeing how that turns out!
Maybe a hidden killswitch to the ignition would help increase security, but there's nothing quite like being able to take the steering wheel with you! Only problem is that the cheap eBay quick releases genuinely worry me and the named, branded ones are fecking expensive!

Yeah me too
Yeah Matt had one of the cheapo ones and it was awful, so much play, pure crap. But the D1 spec ones Nas sells on Nutz seem to get very good reviews, they're 40 odd quid I think. Might give one a go!

Ah right, thought it was less than that haha. That one does look smart! May get a blue one...
Got my boot done today.
Had a helper:
Just went for satin black on the underside to save effort/money:
You can see the weave of the carbon in places which is actually pretty cool
A bit of Kurust on the boot floor:
Then Hammerite:
Making progress on the sub enclosure too, although no pics yet. I bought a new toy for the job too, top of the line Dremel, it's awesome

Looking good. You will have it all fitted by next weekend. Think the satin black on the under side will look quite smart.

The fleece blanket has been demoted to sub enclosure then. Quite impressed with how it has come out, how is the fibre glass reinforced, or is it strong enough as is with the pressure created by the sub?

Haha, yes, well spotted. Well, it was laying about... and I'd already got paint on it... Some may say it's a promotion
Only quite? . Yeah it'll be strong enough, it's just layers of matting to give it's strength. I may do one more layer on the inside tomorrow, but I'll see.

Ah cool, no worries mate . I've only got a shit one, photos seem to exaggerate it and make it look a different colour when it's not, it's just the rest of the car needs a mop.
Oh and the boot needs a sand and compound.
