Jonny's GT20s HDi Estate
What I was getting at Ruan, is it's very easy to set it so that it never closes fully so you lose spool....

Well as the car is off the road with head issues at the moment, I've started on my interior, just done one of the back seat bases to begin with, but it's all in bits now and the new fabric should arrive at work tomorrow, so with any luck I should be able to sew it up at lunchtime and get some pictures of it fitted tomorrow evening Big Grin

It's a nice low mileage example that you've got there Jonny. Didn't realise this was DumDum's time warp car for a short while. Glad he didn't reverse this one into a post though.

I Often wonder why some people buy cars and don't use them.

Bolted on another head today, just a few things to finish tomorrow evening and I should be able to start her up. If it's still broken I think I'll cry.

She lives again!!!

So straight back to the quest for powaaaah, I'm on the hunt for some low mileage injectors. Mine are tapping like fook. Like really tapping. Badly. Almost as bad as Ed's (or is it Scott's) GTi.

Might get round to stripping down the old head this weekend, see what's wrong with it.

Also I fixed my wastegate issue while the turbo was off, stuck a bike pump on the actuator line and set up the wastegate properly, turns out that the MBC I had was useless and broken. Makes about 19 psi now, which is completely clean on boost Big Grin

Hm, I was thinking this^^

Unless it's either age related, or power related?

So I went to Europe and this happened..

Basically, in a tunnel in Lyon, the aux belt let go at 5k, and went into the cambelt, round the bottom pulley and caused the belt to slip several teeth, mashing the valves into the pistons. Broke half of the rockers, so we attempted to get it running on 2 cylinders, which failed Sad

So I've finally got the beast back home via an epic road trip in a flatbed to go and get it back into the UK (Big thanks to Vaughan and Fooby, top lads!), then used my AA relay to get me back from Fooby's.

New engine is going to be picked up this weekend, and will be fitted on the bank holiday weekend. Then, once I've rebuilt the current engine as a spare, we'll see just how much fuel I can get in before something melts Big Grin
