Jonny's GT20s HDi Estate - Jonny81191 - 29-01-2012 I guess I should start a bit of a project thread for this! Bought it from Dum-Dum and put it off the road for a couple of weeks as he wanted his wheels back and I was painting my Nimrods. ![]() Cossack grey FTW! Ordered a Stack boost gauge, just need to get the mount finished now. ![]() A few mucky pictures, went up over Wrynose and Hardknott pass today ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Still can't get over how much power there is, when the clutch holds  Not much to do really apart from MBC, Clutch, and some bigger brakes. Cheers for looking! Re: My stage 2 HDi Estate - 4WayDiablo - 29-01-2012 Looks good man! Any bigger plans for the beast? Re: My stage 2 HDi Estate - mark_airey - 29-01-2012 Could have popped in for a brew ![]() Does look tidy, when you want to do MBC? Can also lend a hand with brakes if you like ![]() Shall discuss at meet on thurs.... Re: My stage 2 HDi Estate - Jonny81191 - 29-01-2012 4WayDiablo Wrote:Looks good man! Any bigger plans for the beast? Not really at the moment, just want to get it sorted how I want, then who knows!! mark_airey Wrote:Could have popped in for a brew Aye, didn't really think of that  I'll sort out some brakes first, then we can get the lot done all at once, cheers! Re: My stage 2 HDi Estate - mark_airey - 29-01-2012 No problem at all, decided what brakes your getting? Re: My stage 2 HDi Estate - Jonny81191 - 29-01-2012 I'm leaning towards '6 ones, but I still can't decide.. might put it to vote soon unless I make my mind up  Re: My stage 2 HDi Estate - Foxy-jim - 29-01-2012 Looks awesome on those wheels! They're not too bad but they do fade quite quickly. I'll probably chuck grooved discs on if/when I can afford it. Re: My stage 2 HDi Estate - mark_airey - 29-01-2012 If you decide to get 283mm ones then get the 307 ones as they are cheaper and a direct fit ![]() thats what I have on mine like, grooved discs I wouldn't bother with though unless you like changing pads, just use decent quality standard discs and good brake pads (Mintex 1144 spring to mind), should be more than enough IMO Re: My stage 2 HDi Estate - Stey - 30-01-2012 mark_airey Wrote:If you decide to get 283mm ones then get the 307 ones as they are cheaper and a direct fit or if you have 16" wheel's on go for the 302mm 307 disc's and caliper's, with the master cylinder they are very good brakes ![]() Re: My stage 2 HDi Estate - Jonny81191 - 30-01-2012 Stey Wrote:or if you have 16" wheel's on go for the 302mm 307 disc's and caliper's, with the master cylinder they are very good brakes That's what my other option is, Just not too keen on the weight of them! IMO It wants a hybrid turbo but for now id get 302mm brakes as Fading GTi6 ones isnt fun when youve just spent £££ upgrading and £££ on fancy pads. Just go for 302mms especially on those roads. No offence Chris but I have the 307 283mm brakes and have never had a problem on "those roads" with brake fade and I do tend to drive it pretty hard! Re: My stage 2 HDi Estate - Dum-Dum - 02-02-2012 Lend me your car, Ill make your brakes fade. Re: My stage 2 HDi Estate - Hitchos - 02-02-2012 lol chris im good at knacking brakes to lol Re: My stage 2 HDi Estate - mark_airey - 02-02-2012 Dum-Dum Wrote:Lend me your car, Ill make your brakes fade. I could make them fade, but driving the car I have had no problem ![]() Re: My stage 2 HDi Estate - Ruan - 03-02-2012 But then you'd be going slower, cause you're braking too much... Honestly, with correct driving style and decent pads, you shouldn't be fading brakes... I really can't see the issue, people will agree on here, I don't drive SLOWLY, I do like to give my car abuse, and I've only faded my 266s when they were on wank pads. Re: My stage 2 HDi Estate - mark_airey - 03-02-2012 Ruan Wrote:But then you'd be going slower, cause you're braking too much... Exactly, simple answer, if your fading any of the bigger brakes then you are using them too much, brake less/drive properly ![]() |
