he shouldnt have won. he was cheating! using my schoolmates as lowerage isnt fair!
on a serious note though, im quite proud of my wee chris and his wee tractor. he put a shit load of work into it over the past few months through wind and rain and i even did some of it during chemotherapy and a dose of the old cancer. nice to see its paid off eventually, even if its only at knockhill. roll on fcs '13

So I was thinking about this car the other day after I saw a Nissan Stagea thing (big Jap estate car) and wondered what a 306 Estate would look like with the C-pillar blacked-out?
Disclaimer: The above is not to be taken to heart and is probably a joke, grow up you big girl.

Ergh no, looks wrong

It does look a little wrong. The Stagea is a pretty win car though

Nah not really feeling that but fair play for thinking outside the box!
I know what the next purchase is though. And no it's unfortunately not a big turbo.. WANT SO BADD!!! 16x8.25" all round, ET0, 20mm hub adapters... ET-20 anyone? Hmm might have to look at 40mm JDM arches too...
08-10-2012, 08:16 PM
I think you'd need to turn it into a dimma estate to fit those!!
08-10-2012, 08:18 PM
NEVAHHH! I have about 20mm room at the front with the camber so they'll be fine, mayeb a slight arch pull. Rears definitely need arches though.
IT SHALL BE DONE.
08-10-2012, 08:20 PM
Any idea how you'll do it? And then any idea on how you'll do it without it looking shit?
I don't doubt you'll get it done and do a good job of it mate Also good plan on those being 16s. Ed will be along shortly to remind you that the extra inch makes all the difference, no doubt.

Iv always wondered how well extended/bolt on arches would work on a 306, I think they could look awesome.
Problem with stanced 306's is they are very slab sided, so pokey wheels can look a bit out of place. I think with something 106 gti'esque or even as you say big jdm arches, 270z etc arches would look great Get'r dun.
08-10-2012, 08:28 PM
Yeah dan, I have my eye on 40mm shallow JDM arches for the rear. Can get them sitting bang on the rim then too. Fronts wont need arches, currently ET+5 8J and still space for more
They WILL go on my car, and i WILL make them work. Bolt on arches will look 10x better than flared rear quarters imo

I'm having trouble picturing it, but if anyone can pull it off it's you in fairness
08-10-2012, 08:33 PM
Lol cheers Curt, I shall be victorious!
And in response to Ash on Facebook, not a case of "wrong fitment wheels are wrong", more a case of "wrong fitment car made to fit right fitment wheels"
08-10-2012, 08:38 PM
I'm not sold on rear arches only, I think it'll need them all round to pull it off. Prove me wrong though x x x x
08-10-2012, 08:40 PM
I'll just fire bigger spacers on the front then and arch them. Dimma? Dafuq is that?
08-10-2012, 08:40 PM
I'm sure you have a shop done of this already??
08-10-2012, 08:44 PM
I was hoping for a Blue Peter moment there in all honesty.
Not sure if you've noticed but this thread is by far the 'most posted in' thread on the forum. Well in

I like the wheel and arch idea, but are you going to paint the wheels?
Also, spray the white bits around your IC! Only take half hour! :p

Scott, merci beaucoup for the stickers, will be going on the motor when I find somewhere to put them!
Update time again, things move fast in the world of me. Weeks of doing nothing then BOOM, a cheque from the Inland Revenue arrives at my doorstep. My first thoughts, naturally, were "m0ar poke", so I found a chap on eBay in the 'states selling wheels in a fitment you plain just can't get in the UK. XXR 530's with offset ET0. Oh and a rather awkward stud pattern what with being 4x100, so I needed some adapters for the hubs. And adapters add m0ar poke, namely another 25mm. So that's 16x8.25 with 195/40/16 and ET-25. Lovely. I found a set of adapters on Wheel Whores, a chap had some made from billet ally for his escort mk1 becauseracecar but was told by the FIA that he wasn't allowed to run hub adapters, so his £170 custom machined ones are now heading to me for the paltry sum of £70 and they haven't even been used before. Finally.. poke. It's getting a bit ridiculous, willtheyfit tells me they'll poke about 30-40mm MORE than the Dares I have currently. Now that's downright illegal by anyone's standards. So I also have a nice set of bolt on arches winging my way to me as we speak to ensure Mr Vosa doesn't have a field day. It also means the ridiculous stretch at the rear is coming to an end i'm afraid, lost scene points but gained safety (possibly?) and more confidence in corners Watch this space for some angle grinding goodness...

Should be sweet.
How long will your wheel bearings put up with it for though? Lol Disclaimer: The above is not to be taken to heart and is probably a joke, grow up you big girl.
