I like it mate, looks good like that IMO maybe another 10-15mm on the front to even it out a bit!
Foxy-jim Wrote:Get it lower not higher! Looks good! Umm yeah..........you want to try our roads before making that comment For Jonny that height will be perfect as he actually uses his car to get places which you won't get if its sat on the ground!

Fitted my boost gauge the other day, can anyone guess what the pod is made from? EDIT: I know you can't see it, but it fits perfectly and looks like it's meant to be there. Cost: Some paint and ingenuity! Welding and fabrication projects undertaken, contact me for more information.

Made my "mid box back box" today, going to fit it in the morning and try and finally fit my MBC, although I can't use any power at the moment cos my clutch has properly shat itself and won't hold much over half power feeling like a bit of a tit cos I did a really hard second gear start and that was what caused it to give up.
[attachment=1] was tempted to leave it like this for lols [attachment=0] Welding and fabrication projects undertaken, contact me for more information.

Looks good to me mate.

Cheers mate, it's pretty much the same as the one you fitted, but i've cut the end at an angle and welded the backbox bracket onto it instead of your threaded bar method

hock:
I drove this earlier for the first time since putting my new backbox on. I went to overtake someone, put my foot down and was absolutely amazed at how much more power was there! It's not night and day, but I reckon there's about 10 BHP extra. Then of course the clutch started slipping again and I had to back off, but when the clutch holds, if you mat it in 3rd, you can feel the front tyres are just hanging on, and if it's a rough road you get little chirps from the front tyres. It only did that in 2nd before Very happy at the moment, can't wait to get a real clutch in there! Welding and fabrication projects undertaken, contact me for more information.

Final to do list before FCS!
-Fit my GTi brakes now I've finally got them sorted, -Change back to springs (60mm) -Lower the rear a bit -Decent clean and polish -Mudflaps cos I'm fed up of tar spots everywhere (might come off again if they look rubbish) -Oil catch tank if I can find space in the engine bay -MBC (god knows why I need more power with the clutch as it is) -And I'd like to try and find time to paint my engine cover. All while helping my mate to get his car ready, and doing all my college work! Should be easy... Welding and fabrication projects undertaken, contact me for more information.

@ Mark, in the first picture it is yes. BTW, how much paint did you use to paint that? I chipped it on my garage door and it went all the way through, it looks like there is in an inch of paint haha
@ Jonny, get your priorities sorted!! The back doesn't need lowering, it looks fine as a piece of cheese, get the turbo sorted Get that fog light sorted as well, then it will be absolutely spot on. Daily Slag: http://306oc.co.uk/forum/thread-3849.html

Well, an interesting evening yesterday! I took off the backbox and went for a drive, just to get an idea of how loud a straight rear section would be. And the whistling noise that sounded like a dying turbo was gone! Turns out it's the mid box mod I did that has a really odd resonance, causing it to whistle annoyingly.
So got straight under the front and got the boost turned up, no smoke at all now on boost, and she pulls a teeny bit better! Only just gets up on ramps without ripping off the splitter! More exhaust mods...
IMG_1737 by Jonny_Moore91, on Flickr but the angle isn't quite right and it catches the subframe at idle I'll sort it when I get round to it. I also fitted my BM gear linkages, feels really positive and close now Welding and fabrication projects undertaken, contact me for more information.
