Londondan's Black Supercharged XUD New Video Inside!! :D
Good to see your cracking on with this. What is the main benefit from a high lift cam?

Not sure how much benefit there will actually be, there has been some debate on here before as to how worthwhile they are. But looks good in a spec list I suppose! When I have the 2 together it will be interesting to make a comparison.

More bits come off today

Then this happened :S Hopefully it's just a gaiter

Charger off

Then so did everything else!!

Bits on the floor. Both hubs are off as well as I'll be getting new bearings pressed in

The pump will be coming home with me tonight as well for a good clean.

Going to get a hoist for next weekend so I can get the engine out and the bay cleaned.

Yea, going to completely strip and clean everything this time. I'm in no rush either so it will be done tidy, all the wiring will be neat, etc.

Had my daughter last weekend so no proper progress but the temp engine came from Jacko and I started giving the pump a clean as well especially as its had 2 HG's let go on it!. I ordered a seal kit for it too as I've disturbed a few rubbers now.

The new block

And some pump porn Big Grin

All done with the dremel!! Not sure on weather to carry on or to paint it and if I do paint it what colour????

Engine should be coming out tomorrow evening, all going well so hopefully another update then.

Engine came out late last night, managed to split the gearbox and remove the manifolds as well.

Pictures are a bit crap due to the bodged light!

I want to see photos of it finished, not in a million pieces!

Looking very interesting.

Dare I ask what you've used the dremmel for and what it will achieve? Or will you tell me to get stuffed. lol

Yea cheers bud. I think it was partly due to a rush job with a dodgy engine that caused failure last time.

Hopefully going to be pulling the head off tonight Big Grin

Erm erm, must think of something smart to say to salvage my reputation as forum genius. ...

Why that part of the pump. Don't the diesels keep it clean enough?

I didn't clean the inside with the dremel!!! Just easier to take the top off, plus I have replaced some of the bolts with stainless

Head came off tonight as well as clutch, flywheel and a few other bits

Pics as usual Smile Block and head all seem to be in good nic. Can't see an obvious point where the hg let go but it will be between the cylinder and waterway somewhere....

Top deck and pistons look good

Is this the problem area around No.3????

What colour to paint this???? Huh

Bits collecting!!

Loads of meat left on the clutch so that can defo go into the little engine, not sure weather to get the flywheel lightened yet or not...

Tomorrow I will be cleaning up the engine bay, finally fitting some matrix hoses and tidying up a few odds and sods.

Cheers for reading Smile

Ok time for an update. Progress has been pretty slow recently due to cash shortages, work commitments, time, etc.

But there has been things going on in the background Big Grin

The good head is nearly stripped down and will be taken down to be re skimmed and tested. I also want to know if there is anything that can be done to improve flow in terms of larger valves, etc.

Also got a bit bored! lol

Collection of shiney bits!

Then yesterday and today I built up the spare engine Smile

Cambelt on - I may take the engine out every time I change the belt from now on!!

Power steering pump and oil sandwich plate on

Then POW!

The difference in the 2 crank pulleys! The weight of the bigger one is about half that of the stock one too!

Charger belt routing

And she's in!!!!

Thanks for reading Smile

Increases the charger speed so more air being pushed through. IIRC Darren had that pulley made to take the charger up to about 15,000rpm which is about their limit. Pretty sure it was 15k anyway!
