I had the same problem but mine was a dodgy relay in the fuse box so I would check that before cutting the block off

Open the drivers door and wiggle the door loom a bit might be a dodgy wire connection mine does it

that's where I was going wrong I was putting the clamp just in front of the flaired bit on the cat

that's the clamp I've got and you saying that about the collers I think that I might have been putting the clamp in the wrong place so i'll have a look tomorrow thanks for the info

well after all the suggestions from the guys on here and at work turns out the head gasket was knackered and the head was cracked in 2 places so new engine needed
