Droplinks!
#1
Hi

Any particular brand to go for? Best value for money?

Gonna replace them when lowering and ECP want £52 for 2 droplinks!?

I thought they were about a tenner each!! Confused

Dont want some crap ebay ones that snap over the first bump but £50 seems a bit excessive! Dodgy

Cheers
Tom

I get trade at a place called auto supplies so I think I pay about 8.50 each for them but think they are just local!

£50odd is taking the piss a bit tho, bet you wouldn't pay much more than that from pug!

May as well look for the group buy that ended up being £60 for rose jointed ally ones if you're going to pay that much lol.

In a way you're right......I mean, pay twice as much for a VW over a 306 and it'll last much longer....oh wait. Confused lol

But tbh, the GSF are still branded (I wouldnt buy cheap chinese crap off ebay lol) so hopefully they'll be fine. Smile

I've had lemforders on the HDi, one is shot within 3K so i'm never buying them again. Shite.

I've had boggo GSF cheapies last 10x that mileage at least.

Yeah thats all they should be!! They're probably the same ones I got from GSF anyway. I got SKF top mounts from there which are same as ECP lol.

Lol, I would expect lemforders would be better than the cheap ones!! We'll see how long the GSF ones last anyway....chances are I wont keep the car more than 6 months anyway tbf lol.

A lot of people slate droplinks other than rosejointed and pug ones but most dont realise that they do wear out substantially faster the lower your car is! Even by 30mm they will still wear out fairly quickly. Normal height and under normal conditions, most will last years and years

Mine is standard though. I've bought Gsf ones lots of times and generally they are replaced infrequently. Only fitted lemforder due to the fact the boots had perished and I was there doing my clutch.

I;ve had Meyle HD stuff before and wasn't overly impressed. Wear rate didn't seem any different to cheap crap.

Basically what you're admitting is that yes, they'll wear out just as quickly, but you get free replacements lol
