Droplinks! - Toms306 - 09-11-2012

Hi

Any particular brand to go for? Best value for money?

Gonna replace them when lowering and ECP want £52 for 2 droplinks!?

I thought they were about a tenner each!! Confused

http://www.eurocarparts.com/ecp/c/Peugeot_306_2.0_2000/p/car-parts/suspension-and-steering/suspension/anti-roll-bar-components/?600735035&1&2d68bd190b3589e42bec7d52db3f5d2921f4acb9&000016

Dont want some crap ebay ones that snap over the first bump but £50 seems a bit excessive! Dodgy

Cheers
Tom

RE: Droplinks! - Oil-burner - 09-11-2012

Think they are £12 each from my local car parts place!

RE: Droplinks! - Toms306 - 09-11-2012

Thats what I was expecting really...I take it your local isn't a chain?

RE: Droplinks! - samass - 09-11-2012

gsf do them for about 12 quid a peice i think

RE: Droplinks! - Oil-burner - 09-11-2012

I get trade at a place called auto supplies so I think I pay about 8.50 each for them but think they are just local!

£50odd is taking the piss a bit tho, bet you wouldn't pay much more than that from pug!

RE: Droplinks! - Toms306 - 09-11-2012

Ah didnt think about gsf....I still get dubgen discount there too...hmm!

Lol...

What the hell are ECP playing at with such a daft price! Cheers guys, looks like I'll head to gsf then!

RE: Droplinks! - Kezzieboy - 09-11-2012

May as well look for the group buy that ended up being £60 for rose jointed ally ones if you're going to pay that much lol.

RE: Droplinks! - Kwik - 09-11-2012

meyle HD ones are a good bet as they have 4 year warranty. may be hard sourcing some holla at Kris B think he can supply them

RE: Droplinks! - Toms306 - 09-11-2012

Got the GSF ones now. Smile

RE: Droplinks! - Frosty - 09-11-2012

you get what you pay for really. i would expect to see the more expensive 1s last longer that the really cheap 1s. i brought some off ebay which i wish i hadn't as the boots are slpit already and they only been on there about 3 months

RE: Droplinks! - Toms306 - 09-11-2012

In a way you're right......I mean, pay twice as much for a VW over a 306 and it'll last much longer....oh wait. Confused lol

But tbh, the GSF are still branded (I wouldnt buy cheap chinese crap off ebay lol) so hopefully they'll be fine. Smile

RE: Droplinks! - Frosty - 09-11-2012

i should of prob brought some off GSF but i forti would give the ebay 1s a try as only like £10 for a pair

RE: Droplinks! - 1616six - 09-11-2012

What on earth Tom, I paid £22 for a pair from ECP about 6 weeks ago!

RE: Droplinks! - C2K - 09-11-2012

I've had lemforders on the HDi, one is shot within 3K so i'm never buying them again. Shite.

I've had boggo GSF cheapies last 10x that mileage at least.

Yeah thats all they should be!! They're probably the same ones I got from GSF anyway. I got SKF top mounts from there which are same as ECP lol.

Lol, I would expect lemforders would be better than the cheap ones!! We'll see how long the GSF ones last anyway....chances are I wont keep the car more than 6 months anyway tbf lol.

A lot of people slate droplinks other than rosejointed and pug ones but most dont realise that they do wear out substantially faster the lower your car is! Even by 30mm they will still wear out fairly quickly. Normal height and under normal conditions, most will last years and years

RE: Droplinks! - Kwik - 09-11-2012

stuck record mode on

meyle hd, meyle hd, meyle hd

joints will still wear and knock if your lowered.

And kwik, out of anyone i would of thought you would be there person to know that skipping records have had it and should be binned Tongue

RE: Droplinks! - C2K - 09-11-2012

Mine is standard though. I've bought Gsf ones lots of times and generally they are replaced infrequently. Only fitted lemforder due to the fact the boots had perished and I was there doing my clutch.

RE: Droplinks! - Kwik - 09-11-2012

you joker vinyl will never die!

but it's the 4 year unlimited milage warranty that makes meyle hd the way to go.........

RE: Droplinks! - cwspellowe - 10-11-2012

I;ve had Meyle HD stuff before and wasn't overly impressed. Wear rate didn't seem any different to cheap crap.

Basically what you're admitting is that yes, they'll wear out just as quickly, but you get free replacements lol

RE: Droplinks! - Kwik - 11-11-2012

lol i never thought of it like that
