new MOT criteria on warning lights, air bag lights
#1
as most of you know now when you go for MOT there should be no warning lights illuminated on the dashboard and they should come on then go off on ignition or when the engine is started. there is a way round this for airbags without changing the way the system works. if you put a 2, 3 or 4 ohm resistor in place of the airbag component (its trial and error on which value resistor works) the airbag ecu is tricked into believing the system is working as it should and the light will come on then go out so Mr MOT tester thinks there's nothing wrong with the system. happy days Big Grin

if for example the passenger pre tensioner is dodgy and you are in an accident then using this method it will not fire depending on if the resistor is put in and the airbag component is left unplugged

My tester said they tried to bring the dash light thing in but it got kicked out at the last minute!
I just bridged my airbag bulb on to the abs warning light! Wink
