Dont need to remove box to fit diff. Derp

Its ATB for me not plate....driven both and always prefered the atb. Is that just me? Or maybe bad plate diff experience? Even the design/science of it I prefer

Maybe cos they feel the same as a oem diff? You must be one of few be owners to say that.

iys a right fuckabout trying to fit the diff with the box on, especially if the casing needs relieving, better to pull the box off to do it.

100% plate diff for me.

I don't think the ball ache is worth it with a plate on the road, My Clio's plated needs a rebuild every 2 years and it only used for sprints and hillclimbs (plus around 500 road miles), it made 0.5 of second difference over the quaife box I had which is worth it to me but for a non competition car wouldn't make sense to me

anyway... to break up the diff discussion the 6 (4) points got fitted today. Crotch straps will be mounted the next time the car goes to chambers. The Inner one Ill also fit to floor/exhaust tunnel instead of the seat subframe (which is designed to take belts).

Before:

After:

belts ends rolled up and cable tied.

Also swapped out the fuel filter and the oil. Whilst doing the fuel filter I replaced some perished exhaust rubbers and put the centre one back on as that has a habit of coming off. Things were a bit rusty underneath some sprayed WD40 everywhere but mainly on the shock and brake bolts as those will have to be undone soon. The oil was particularly black. 4.5L of 10w40 shell helix back in. Filter was a bit difficult to get off as the oil cooler take off plate started coming off with it. Tightened that up a bit and all seems to be good again. Oil hasnt been changed for the best part of the year. All done now though and sounds a lot smoother.

Also pulled out the 4 cyclones im going to try and refurbish over the holidays. Air filter off for a wash.

Found a bit of time to be vaguely creative. Hopefully this will be a decent solution... ive made a cup holder for the 306. It replaces the tub that goes in the back of the lower centre console. Its designed to fit moderate sized cups and has ridges in the bottom to hold anything smaller. In order to hold anything ive made the holding part as wide as possible which will require the console to be slightly trimmed.

And last time I got my LED Shift light holder printed it came out the wrong size. Looks like it was my mistake with scaling in the software so ive scaled it up and angled it as Im going to mount it upsidedown probably from the top of the speedo.

All due to arrive in the first week of january so hopefully it will all fit when it arrives and I wont have blown a whole load more money on useless prints.

As always unfortunately is about 50 quid posted. I decided to make it without a lip on the top and without the clips in order to reduce price a d the clips would be too brittle and break anyway.

Yeah the box section just behind it. I'd be surprised if they did as I'd expect people to have done it before.

Not a lot been happening with this. It hasnt even been started since the 3" harnesses went in. Battery is on trickle charge so itll be ready when I do want to take it out. Never did get to the bottom of the misfiring issue but once the roads are cleaner and the weather is better hope to get it out again. I say out but it lives on a gravel drive way...

Ive been thinking about bits to try and protect it. First thing to do will be to get the rear bumper off and wire wheel everything before kurust and hammerite it I reckon. Nice easy to do rear section before starting on the rear arches.

Finally got hold of all of the bits to make up the new bilstein suspension. Most of hte new parts from peugeot come unpainted so im currently looking into how best to protect those. Havent really got space to setup a proper cleaning and galvanizing setup but may look into it anyway.

Also met up with the bash family and picked up a replacement drivers side mirror. The glass on mine had been broken and someone had stuck a stick on replacement over the top. Now I can put a genuine one back on! I only had heated ones in my collection.
