Eccentric driveshaft intermediate bearing bolts

From what I can tell, as long as the driveshaft is in the hub, these bolts don't really do anything:

You definitely need them back in, and done up tight

Are you pulling them through so it doesnt all spin?

yup there there to stop the bearing spinning in the housing you dont want that

Yes, I do but sometimes I find that the tap is the wrong way round because when I was tightening the nut it jumped out and then I have to untighten them and retighten them all again which is a pain. Which was why I was wondering if it was possible to get rid of them but I guess not. A "long" nut such as this one might be a nice thing to get next time though:

fiddly job.
Finger on the back so it sits in its seat, keep at it. itsa long thread... but its there for a reason Wishes for more power...

Well I tightened them up in the end. If they can't rotate 360 degrees then does that mean they are seated? Just realised I can't see shit when the driveshaft bearing is in the way!
