Eccentric driveshaft intermediate bearing bolts - 306Puggy - 06-07-2013 From what I can tell, as long as the driveshaft is in the hub, these bolts don't really do anything: I've been undoing them for the last hour with a stubby 11mm spanner. If someone where to mislay them or simply forget to put them back would it be flagged up on MOT? RE: Eccentric driveshaft intermediate bearing bolts - zx_volcane - 06-07-2013 You definitely need them back in, and done up tight RE: Eccentric driveshaft intermediate bearing bolts - 306Puggy - 06-07-2013 ___ Re: Eccentric driveshaft intermediate bearing bolts - Seb_Ryan - 06-07-2013 Are you pulling them through so it doesnt all spin? RE: Eccentric driveshaft intermediate bearing bolts - cully - 06-07-2013 yup there there to stop the bearing spinning in the housing you dont want that RE: Eccentric driveshaft intermediate bearing bolts - 306Puggy - 06-07-2013 (06-07-2013, 04:56 PM)Seb_Ryan Wrote: Are you pulling them through so it doesnt all spin? As in, they won't rotate 360 degrees? Yes, I do but sometimes I find that the tap is the wrong way round because when I was tightening the nut it jumped out and then I have to untighten them and retighten them all again which is a pain. Which was why I was wondering if it was possible to get rid of them but I guess not. A "long" nut such as this one might be a nice thing to get next time though: RE: Eccentric driveshaft intermediate bearing bolts - spike2002 - 06-07-2013 Or just use a deep socket or rachet spanner RE: Eccentric driveshaft intermediate bearing bolts - Piggy - 06-07-2013 fiddly job. Finger on the back so it sits in its seat, keep at it. itsa long thread... but its there for a reason RE: Eccentric driveshaft intermediate bearing bolts - 306Puggy - 06-07-2013 Well I tightened them up in the end. If they can't rotate 360 degrees then does that mean they are seated? Just realised I can't see shit when the driveshaft bearing is in the way!
