so... dec came over before the ipswich meet and we did some normal skateboarding stuff... Decs skateboard when we were at the viewing point...
and mine... and then i quickly rushed together my stanceboard... dec didnt have time for his as he was busy fitting the p3 bumper. More work is needed to get it how i want it but it was thrown together just in time for the meet! Got a lot of attention at the meet and had a convo with a guy who said he just paid £70 for one on ebay! One problem... it moved on its own but as soon as any weight was on it then the bolts scrubbed! So the 50mm wheels will have to be replaced for 70mm or even 80mm wheels oh and pizza was eaten and kept warm on the interheater of decs car!

I found a little hill and what myself going down as when it got going fast the steering was so sensitive! Ended up doing a 200m hill sitting on the board which was fun. Especially as there was 5 speedbumps! as a stanceboard... Its too low atm to do anything. Going to get some big wheels which should make it rideable... Then I'll put on extra nuts and see if I can get some steering working :-)

Skateboarding is awesome
Except when you try a trick out of your skill level and you land on your head. FAIL 306 HDI, soon to be XUD

declantg Wrote:Skateboarding is awesome it was hilarious. I don't know what its called but Dec had his board Spiderman one foot under the middle and one foot on the top of one end. Jump up and you flip the board over and land on it too... Yep Dec landed on the board but at one end and it escaped from under him and he fell straight over lol

Looks good.
Mine has actually reignited my love for skating so much so that im tempted to go out and buy a longboard.

Currently I have 50mm wheels and the bolts were scrapping on the ground so ive got some 80mm wheels on order! Hopefully they will have arrived by the EA meet so i can have a go! I think Dec actually likes his skate board as a normally skateboard... however he did put both trucks the same way round and then wondered why the steering didnt work! lol

The stanceboard is now stanced. I took the 50mm wheels off and put on some 80mm wheels which werent cheap at £10 per corner! Same rusty bearings and nuts but now I have stance, poke, and the front lower than the back!

They cost how much?!???

Dan had a go on it but turned out the front is too low! Also when you try to steer the board twists because the trucks are mounted on top! Im going to make it solid so you cant steer

The stanceboard made an appearance at last nights ipswich meet! But with one modification!
NEONS!

you need to drop the front of your car by another 20mm. or raise the back by 20mm.
IMO anyway and, is your light fogged up? also, take apic of the board in the dark, wanna see what those 'bad man' neonzz look like Member of the 99% warning or you're nothing club

samass Wrote:you need to drop the front of your car by another 20mm. or raise the back by 20mm. Yeh im thinking of going 60mm at the front but im not sure if then the back will be too high? Yes my black masks are fogged up so will need to reseal those at some point. I was amazed at how light the car park was :/ Made the neons look lame. Also they were running off a 9.6V batter so hence only 3/4 of them are lit up!

Furry muff, how low is the front now? 40?
Ah gotcha, well, sort it! Member of the 99% warning or you're nothing club

samass Wrote:Furry muff, how low is the front now? 40? yeh its 40mm at the front. Sometimes I think its stupidly high and needs to go lower. Other times I think it looks spot on :-)

Got some sick shots whilst down in southend on the EA Meet. Tried a ramp but it ground out trying to get off the lip of the ramp so common sense prevailed as i didnt want to end up like dan!
04-06-2012, 10:54 AM
Looks good!
The front of your car doesnt even look 40mm to me, Im sure mine was lower then that on 40mm

stephenraymond606 Wrote:Looks good! But he has the wrong size tyres on......if you had 55 profiles like mine were then 40mm looks better. Sam, the shots of the 'board in it's natural habitat are pretty cool actually.

cheers guys. Yeh as said above i tried using it but it ground out. Its purely just a fashion accessory unless you can find a straight hill haha Ill go 60mm on the front hopefully

Right ive been getting a fair bit of use out of the board recently when being at mates houses in town etc. So me and James (fishsuffolk) gave it a run down a mates street. Plan is to go on one of the busier roads with a long steep hill one night however its having the balls to do it!
so here is me on the board! and james... its also been a bit of a hit down at the sailing centre where we both worth with one of us always riding it down the hill from lunch to the centre! loving it! |
