Dave's Euro-ish moonstone, return of the banded steels.

I've had my pug for a few months now so I thought I'd get a project thread up. It's still mostly plans until I change insurance companies in a couple of weeks, so bear with me.

Here it is when I first got it home:

The first thing to do was get a set of cyclones, which I then got refurbed by Dervpower (Chris) from .net, he did a fantastic job and I'd recommend anyone in the North West wanting paint work done to go and see him!

I then bought a '6 splitter and spoiler, which look exactly like a '6 splitter and spoiler, so I won't bore you with pics. Chris will be painting the spoiler, front and rear peugeot badges, and the black parts of the wingmirrors to match the cyclones. I'm also thinking about getting vinyl for the strip on the doors to match too.

I also got a set of wind deflectors for cheap, as one of them had snapped. A bit of super glue and crossed fingers later and they look like this:

Not perfect but ok for the price I paid! It actually doesn't look as bad as it does in that first picture!

And here it is after a very quick wash, as really it was far too sunny and hot:

Cyclones will probably go on this week if I get chance.

I can't wait to rip that scabby rear badge off, it winds me up everytime I see it. Also will be debadging the sides and the rear hdi and peugeot lettering at some point.

I'm picking up a half leather interior on Saturday to replace the rather disgusting grey one I've got in at the moment. I've also chucked in a set of rubber mats that my dad had in his HDI estate from new years ago, again no pics but how interesting can mats be?

Once my insurance is sorted (looking like it'll be with Brentacre, gave me a cracking quote!) it'll be lowered 60mm front and back (already sourced shocks and springs, just need to find someone local to do the rear), full exhaust system (probably straight through) and stage 1 map.

Cyclones are on, not without issue! Broke two socket sets and yet 1 of the steels still wouldn't come off! A quick trip to quik fit and this is the result:

Cheers mate, they're Ford Magnum Grey. Plans are all in the first post, plus I've sourced a set of crystals to mask too.

Nice one Smile

Right, stage 1 remap done! Big thanks to Pro Steve for the quick service and useful info, fantastic! Not had chance to test it just yet, off to work soon though, never looked forward to a drive to work so much! Looking forward to getting the straight through exhaust on on Sunday too! I've fitted a half leather interior, I'll get some pics when it's in Chris' unit on Sunday. Also need to fit the '6 splitter. Anyone know anyone in the North West who does torsion bar lowering and could fit my front shocks/springs?

Bit of an update folks. The car drives much better with the remap, very happy with it!

Went and got my rather pikey exhaust system fitted on Sunday, decat and de-midbox.

Was going to put on a midbox that i'd got with the system, to use as a backbox, but it wasn't long enough and didn't clear the bumper. So i'm currently using the original backbox which will obviously restrict the system, so I'm looking for a free flowing backbox with a nice rolled tip!

I also fitted my gti splitter on Sunday, but I haven't got a pic. I'm going to give her a good clean later today and get some decent pics!

On Tuesday I spent a while going from this:

and this:

to this:

I also removed the badges next to the side repeaters, to find one had been stuck on with super glue :/ Sadly the badges on both side took laquer with them when they came off Sad

My rear badge is a bit of a mess:

I was planning on just replacing it with a colour coded one, but I'm leaning towards a smoothed boot as there are rust spots on my boot anyway!

I've got a set of roof bars waiting to go on, just need to get the bolts for them, and a spoiler waiting to be painted. My spare room is now full of car bits, exhaust, interior, roof bars, general bits and bobs, the girlfriend is really impressed Wink

It's really screaming out to be lowered now, so I need to find someone who can do it in the North-West.

All thoughts welcome!

Gave her a good wash, clay and polish yesterday. Was just starting to wax and it started to rain, bloody typical! I've chucked the roof bars on without screws, just to see how they look. Managed to get a few decent photos, let me know what you think! I'm looking for someone to lower it, it's crying out for it I think!

Right, there've been a fair few changes since the last time I updated this!

First of all were the gloss black and anthracite front and rear badges from Gareth7:

Then I went to see Chris (Dervpower) to get my backbox fitted. It's just a universal one from ebay which, it turned out, was far too short to fit my system. Chris managed to fabricate a join to connect the system and backbox and welded it up for me, absolute hero! Feels much nippier now I've got rid of the standard backbox, looks better and sounds rather nice!

Then it was off to RickyP to have her lowered, I was sick of driving a tractor! I had bought 60mm springs and front and rear shocks from Chris so the plan was to lower it 60mm front and back. Got the front lowered and it turned out it was a fair bit lower than 60mm, so I got Ricky to lower the rear 65mm. The rear still sits higher than the front, but although it would look better lower, it would probably cause my exhaust system to be ripped off as it sits quite low! Looks much better low imo, Ricky did a fantastic job and is a really sound guy, couldn't recommend him enough (also makes a decent brew!).

Just given her a quick wash and finally got the roof bars fixed on so took a few quick photos! The overall aim is leaning down the Euro route, although obviously the car is nowhere near "Euro" currently. My wheels and tyres are currently up for sale in the for sale section as I'm after something nice and wide instead! Any feedback would be great!

This is less than a weeks build up, smokey!!!
