Probably just the way it delivers its power compared to a decent diesel, a lot of diesels feel quick because of the torque low down and the shorter gears but the petrol equivalent is usually quicker unfortunately!
Lol there's nothing 'slow' about any well maintained GTi6, is there??? Ive never driven one, probably never going to either but aren't they animals for revs and power?
Couple of runs I done just now... didn't time it sure some one will though
2 up with parts in the boot
Do like your 306 dood, does sound very sweet!
Hard to tell exact sorta times though as position of the needle isnt easy to tell... I think its roughly the same though? - Maybe a bit quicker 0-60? But I'm not surprised by that at all to be honest
I don't wana drag Ruan into an argument...
But be interesting what he has to say as he drove it recently and probably has better experience than me of what it compares when considering other 306s
This is my 0-60 and 30-70 in one picture. As you can tell im really happy with the non running car at this time.
On a break from 306oc for personal reasons. If anyone needs or wants me most of you have my number and or facebook messenger
Thanks for the good times guys n gals. I might be back. Who knows.

Piglet your always saying how slow they are
And that video shows a low boost 6, 2 people on board, full interior and all the creature comforts. Pulling a better time than your 2.1. Really must suck to be you right now bro

As if the videos and the long list of "cars it is faster then" aren't proof enough?
This thread is fast becoming (more of) an embarrising farce

You said you'd destroy one.
I really like your car in any case to be honest, and there's no doubting that it is quick, just don't see the point in everyone always putting everyone else's cars down.
This post is an artistic work of fiction and falsehood. Only a fool would take anything posted above as fact.
62k Diablo Phase 1 Gti-6:Project Thread
I think the bit that makes it an embarrassing farce is where otherwise well-balanced and normal members feel the need to join in with piggy-baiting. We've got various other idiots that sign up and spout genuine nonsense all the time and they're mostly ignored, what makes Piggy so special that he deserves all the abuse?

The way I see it is fair play you've built a car which is quick, you should be proud of that.
The willy waving throwing figures around, 'my car's faster than yours' type comments just make you seem like a cock.
You always say you don't care what everyone thinks but you absolutely do as you need everyone to know that your car has the same 0-60 as a Bentley & that you would 'destroy' a Gti6.
I love the car, it's awesome. Just stop bragging all the time, we get it.. you've got a quick diesel.
I think completely the opposite.
When you build something quick the common thing to get asked by everyone else is how fast / how powerful it is and you need to be able to quantify that and the only way to do that is with dyno graphs and performance times whether that's 0-60, 30-70, 0-100-0 or lap times of somewhere famous.
Everyone needs to calm down on winding piggy up as he is only quantifying in numbers what he has built.
So I put a 4.6 twin turbo v6 in my 306. Had to keep the original car's clocks though
My car isn't about 30-70 etc. It's about sliding into an apex on the brakes and getting back on the power as soon as I can whilst pissing myself laughing.
170bhp/tonne is never going to be really wild but it's more than enough. If you enjoy what you've created (even with a sick diesel mind) then happy days I say.
I've driven a few 1000+bhp cars now. Yes they are fast. That's about it.

I don't care about book times etc, or I would have been down the 1/4mile with all the other boyzzz.
I only did the times/video because people kept on at me for them! And don't forget the dozen or so people who follow this thread on 306oc don't allow for the others who only watch my videos... So info like what other cars compare is useful to them.
What happened to banter?! Seems fine in every other thread on here but this one.
Chill pill people. Take one quick!

*patiently waiting for Chris Lapit to comment*
His is NOT low boost

Prove it wrong then...
I am a bit dumb to be honest as i havent found figures for acceleration for low boost gti6...
I am honestly curious
("destroy" was a rather brave word to use wasn't it... )
Ok this boost question?? What is low boost on this forum??
Well my lowest boost is 7 psi 240 bhp engine
Or run 18psi which is 344bhp at wheels on average.
At fcs to put in perspective i was only running a bar of boost.
Fair play to piggy for his epic build of some 103 pages documented build thread.
And if my car was a hadi i think it would be stage 3
