I think having a good brake setup with make you a LOT quicker tbh especially after seeing how epically shite your brakes are tbh lol
Issue with action days, shows etc is the track is filled with have a go heros and new guys. Proper track days will mostly be experienced guys. Obviously you have got to start somewhere and action days are quite good for that but i think if you want to improve, you need to start doing some proper track days.

Once the rallye is ready itll be a great car and will be a decent track car for doing some proper days. Remember Ive got all the goodies which i never actually fitte dto the 1.8, oil cooler, solid beam mounts, engine mounts etc. Should have almost all the upgrades!

Greenstuffs caused bluey to go offroading so would blame them
Thats part of the problem of having a slower car is that you become even slower by having to cock up your lines to let others past, or you loose all that hard earned momentum when some prick wont let you past

That's not good, my 266s weren't bad at all with oem mintex in. Haha yeah, it'll turn out half of one caliper is missing or something knowing your style.

I'm wondering if theres something wrong with the system tbh, EBD issue maybe, weren't the GTi brakes pretty poor on it as well? And you did say the rear discs had blued after a track session.
Not that it matters now, just be interesting to know lol.

You can't get attached to something you can't drive mate, I'm sure the Rallye will grow on you when it's all working and full of shiny bits!

I guess this deserves an almost final status update. Tom and i stripped out the interior last weekend and during the week has been doing a great job. He has got the engine out along with the suspension and subframe etc. Bash was going to have the shell but hasnt got anywhere to store it so looks like itll be scrapped in the next two weeks. Definitely want it gone before christmas so the neighbours dont get annoyed.
Still more to come off but just waiting on the off chance bash or chambers want the shell. The rest should be super quick to get off before it gets collected. Sad thing is that its all in great condition.

Isn't it self adhesive/single use?
I pulled the bigger bits of cloud9 out of the boot...it was basically a sponge though, hopefully it's dried in the garage.

yeh i thought dynamat was single use. Yeh the cloud 9 doesnt matter. we can bin that unless it goes in the rallye. Dad binned my entire roll i had been keeping for the past few years.
