Hopefully this will be attending combe action day and PFC expo. After that it will be off the road and parts swapped onto the rallye. In the mean time its been out a few times and had a some kayaks on the roof.

Well the car made it to Forge Action day and I got some track time. Car made it round the track and also made it home. Super impressed. Exhaust joints are blowing so ill get that fixed before Expo. Not sure it will be MOTd for the christmas meet. Not anything else to report really!

Doing Expo in this but thing MOT is out for the christmas meet. Then all the parts from this will be on the rallye. Not worth putting back to standard so ill scrap it.
In other news i went to take it out thismorning and hthe magnex middle exhaust section has snapped around the box. So... hopefully that can be welded up or Ill have to fit the exhaust off the rallye.

Yeah Jonny's has gone there too, twice lol.
My mid exhaust also cracked and snapped so had it welded and strengthen for about £40 now gone near the cat joint

can anyone link me to a scorpion exhaust? Doesnt look as if it will make the expo unless I can get something before friday night!

Just weld it up and get a bit of 2mm steel and make a support bracket for the box to pipe...
See cullys thread, he had to do similar recently Wishes for more power...

Ive bought brand new full Piper system for £180 delivered on ebay. I had bid on it before but it had a BIN of £200 and offers. Offered the £165 and postage of 15. Should have it by friday and then Ill put it on the car for the weekend if all goes well!
23-09-2015, 09:05 AM
Always down to the wire working on the car!
23-09-2015, 09:20 AM
Lol, think there's been last minute issues before almost every event on this car!

Well I collected a brand new piper stainless exhuast last night. Was bought for this guys track car but never fitted it. Same guy I bought the cooler off. It was up for £200 or offers on ebay so i offered 165 with 15pp. Ended up having to meet him half way to get it in time for the expo. These retail for £340 as far as I can see so looks like Ive almost paid half price. Not a pretty picture but there we have it. I just hope it fits over the magnex decat pipe.
Hopefully going to get this fitted tonight.

Had you considered getting some tuition dude? Might help iron out some of the creases in driving style on track and get those lap times down. Definitely something i'll be looking into when i start doing track time again.

Definitely making ground with other cars in the corners. Problem with action day is the 306 is one of the slowest cars out there so youre not always on the best line due to giving way to others.
30-09-2015, 03:43 PM
Fair enough. Lines are certainly a hell of a lot better than they used to be tbf. Can see in tge video you're braking and turning in earlier than the markers though, which are, after all, meant to be a beginners guide.

They are truly shocking and will be going straight in the bin when the 1.8 has gone. Its got green stuff pads and cheap drilled and grooved discs but it simply doesnt stop. Definitely cant get it to hit abs under any conditions. Dont know whether the discs are too shit or maybe the inner pads have lost their material. Im sure itll be something horrifically bad. |
