The 2.1TD is an absolute boat anchor of an engine compared to the GTi6 or 8v HDi

The 2.1 is no heavier than the gti6 lump if not a little lighter and the hdi box is lighter than the gti6 box

Would've thought you'd have tools for removing snapped nipples? Or is it just not worth the hassle for how cheap a new one is?
11-04-2015, 07:10 PM
I do. But once they are in bad they are stuck. Also have a tool to put new larger ones in as well. Cheaper for new calliper though cause of labour. Assuming you were talking to me.

I have started to drill the bugga out as it aint budging with all the tools I have. Annoying as its been undone a few times a year.

I was meaning Piggy really, probably should've made that clearer...

Seems odd if its been undone recently though, the ones I've snapped in the past probably hadn't been touched in 10 years lol.

I paid £100 for mine with four pretty much new tyres from Sam. I have to agree with piggy though dude. That is far to much for what essentially look like steel wheels.

Yay I have a heater/windscreeb demister Also lowered the beam another 55mm I'm desperate to get out in it, weather been so good. Just need to finish these brakes and tidy the wiring and I'm going for a long drive this weekend! Wishes for more power...

Just out of interest in your videos you always say 'we' and 'we've' but I've only ever seen you working alone and you've never mentioned anyone else.
Is it just you incorrectly using the majestic pronoun or is there someone we don't see helping?

Also, the calipers I had were long in the tooth...I scraped through my yellow paint...then green, then red, then blue, the red, then black. Any ideas to get this ruddy nipple out?? The nipple is hard as nails to drill Wishes for more power...

Im currently looking into fitting clio 172 rear calipers onto the rallyes rear axle, might be worth a look.
