I'd put money on it holding more than CG claim theirs does.
Tbh for the cost of an uprated friction plate you may as well give CG one last chance. At the least it'll give you a couple more months to save for a proper clutch.
13-12-2014, 08:02 AM
Yeah thats my thinking.
I have in mind to get all the parts I already havnt fitted, add a few more I need (boost pipes, log manifold, fuel supply stuff and clutch stuff) and rip engine/box out over winter at somepoint and fit the lot! Wishes for more power...

Decided not to use the steering wheel anymore...
Just boost and torque Wishes for more power...

Very good read here piggy , big power you have made bet its a total hooot too drive , hope you get the clutch problems sorted dont give up .
22-12-2014, 04:15 PM
May have found more the cause of the clutch slip...
2.75bar of boost anyone!? Since sorting a couple tiny manifold leaks, this thing really wants to boost now...like the needle blasts passed 2.5bar like its the rev counter!! Ive limited heavily the maps controlling the turbo and she still wants to hit 2.5bar too easy....have to limit it even more. Shes going mental Wishes for more power...

That would do it man. Cant wait to finally see this car at a show next year.
On a break from 306oc for personal reasons. If anyone needs or wants me most of you have my number and or facebook messenger
Thanks for the good times guys n gals. I might be back. Who knows.

This is the plan here boys. Been musing over it for some time now. a 306 cannot last forever.
Life will change somewhat after next summer...and its likely I won't need a car or be able to own one. So next year is it. THE year. 3 goals. 1) 250bhp 2) Lots of shows and as much track as I can afford, not probably much but will try. 3) A holiday road trip to whip this round the Trossachs in Scotland. So with this in mind....come mid february time, this is likely to "lose weight"! I want to get the most out of this wee beast. As soon as I get a towbar for the 206, it will only be used as a fun car, and its too fat right now! So among the wanted list is a set of comfy lightweight seats...what options are there and anyone got anything? Wishes for more power...
23-12-2014, 08:25 PM
How light do you wanna go with seats mate, light costs comfort and money and DTurbo seats arent too weighty.
I reckon you wont have too much trouble with building her up to 250bhp
23-12-2014, 08:54 PM
Allowing for poor calculations on transmission losses at Saxon, it was close to 230bhp anyway. Plus, for some reason he backed off at about 3300rpm, so I aint far.
Got a couple ninja plans in store plus the log manifold. Should see us to 250bhp/400ftlbs. Yeah, I want something cheapish to be honest in regard seats. I have sat in some amazing race buckets that I fell asleep in more than once traveling to track days! Wishes for more power...

The rally designs own brand seats are lush and about £100 each including side mounts.

Bugger me they have put their prices up, I bought a set for the lack HDi at £99.50 each +17.5% VAT. They are now £119.50 +20% VAT Very nice, very comfy and very light seats. Rumour has it they designed them to be FIA compliant but never put them through the testing due to the cost and believing they would never make their money back. They do (did) make cheaper seats but they weren't as nice. [attachment=20749] [attachment=20750] [attachment=20751] [attachment=20748]

How many boosts? All the boosts!
Yeah strip it out and get it lighter, remove the back seat at least.
23-12-2014, 10:19 PM
Plan is to FULLY go mental and strip it. Not done it in a long time and its my favourite thing to do!!
Then buy some acoustic carpet and do bits here and there, at least to reduce panel vibrations and dampness! Wishes for more power...
24-12-2014, 07:15 AM
Reckon the turbo will cope with the boost at that kind of level?
24-12-2014, 07:49 AM
Nope!!! Terrified!!!
Hence why I am desperately trying to hold it back with the arduino!! But the GTB seems too fast for the arduino to respond! Wishes for more power...
25-12-2014, 10:11 PM
You are running on vac tho ight not electronic actuator.
Time to make that move for better control.
25-12-2014, 10:22 PM
Perhaps.
Just needs more fiddling I think. Although electronic actuator is likely next... Need to sort power supply to the arduino first Wishes for more power...

If it goes ok, I may even consider changing the exterior back to real oem standard. Silver clones, standard badges/lights etc.
Weirdly, inspiration was a rover 100 I spotted 2 yrs back. Totally oem exterior, the metalic green paintwork, 5dr, totally stripped interior and a vvc engine...he was about 55 too, total legend wooped so much on track! Wishes for more power...
26-12-2014, 03:49 PM
I had some of those seats like poor man sparco s2000's
Yeah actaully ok,I have sparco revs now witch should be more forgiving to fatter people/women/passengers. I love buckets in a daily but you ll soon find out you never have to give anyone a lift anywhere especially mum or dad asking for lift down the shops Astor 6 Fast road/track project
