Thats the most important thing. If you live somewhere full of twists and you have a car that makes 80bhp until 5k where it makes 180, its not going to be any fun!

Even still, i take dyno readings with a pinch of salt. For instance mine ran 215hp at T&R and those guys know what their doing but then i bet if i put it on the dyno at FCS, them idiots didn't have a clue and it would probably make 250 or 170 or something like that lol

She is hunting at cruise (vane control not engine as such) which is an issue with this closed loop control system it seems.
Although I cant believe all the vdub and rover guys out there running these systems put up with it coz its horrible!!


But my biggest worry at the mo is she is displaying signs of a HG failure.
I am desperately hoping its just the matrix putting air in the system due to a small leak.

But my luck...it will be the HG.

If it is. That maybe the final straw. And it certainly wont be hitting the rollers.

I'd say it'd probably be the matrix as you've already said it has a leak, and your probably worried about hg failure due to how it went last time.
Now get it fixed and on the RR and let us know who's right

Guna bleed the system again in the morning, tow a trailer round to earn some money, which will be interesting with a hunting arduino system (which so far is in no way superior to a boost can Angry ) and a possible HG failure

Then hopefully get done by 3ish and have a new matrix in by dinner time.

Bleed that all up with a new stat and coolant that I have had ready for months and see what happens.

Blew a boost hose off today.

Hunting and pulsing boost is bad enough...no boost pulling a 600kg trailer is just mental!!

I dont think your running enough boost at just 1bar higher up in the range to make big power, its got a fair whack of torque lower down which is where you drive it making it feel fast but i dont think its gonna make all out power.


I'm gonna say sub 290lb/ft and sub 170bhp - If you must tie me down to exact figures 279lb/ft and 167.2bhp

We should have this running at 28psi across the rev range all being well...but a lot hangs on the work I do on it this evening and some Ruan time tomorrow!

Although...GTi power with more torque and 60mpg and on veg will do me fine! Smile
