You could probably do it yourself, best off finding other people in your area and getting a group of you together, day job for someone whos done it before.

well the engine is in the silver one so i thought i could use that to learn as its going to be scrapped anyway before i do it on the black car
whilst the engine is out id do the cambelt and pump and change turbo over as i reckon it would be easier
im fairly confident i could change the belt following darrens guide out of the car

Get a video of the problem? Only read breifly on my phone so cant comment right now..
The pump thats on that though is really a radge up...IIRC Ed didnt even pay for a seal kit at the time, and it came apart like 3 times due to Ed messing it up the first time / me fixing it..so wouldnt suprise me at all if the pump is leaky / at fault by now..
That said..it is about time that engine died / had a major overhaul...its had years of abuse and iirc to this day the head hasnt even been off??!

Thanks for your input darren. haven't got a video atm as always work and it's dark by the time I come out.
im back to thinking there is air in the system now just not sure where
If i put my foot flat to the floor there is no power but raise the pedal to 1/4 way it picks up nicely
also i went to put some diesel in earlier and as i undid the fuel cap i heard a pssssssssh (like air escaping)

This has kinda sorted itself out now so going to give it a nice service at the weekend and buy some new and proper IC pipes and clamps as i have a major boost leak
it seems the car runs like a complete bag of shit when i use tesco diesel i put in some shell diesel and it was running fine then yesterday i was low on fuel and near tesco so put some of that in and the problems came back put in another £20 of shell this morning and its fine again... very strange

There was hooha recently about a massive amount of diesel exported that had 40% more water than regulations aloud, no idea if any of it reached the UK though.. did a lot of damage to some trucks though

Some of it did reach the uk. Sainsburys on the Isle of Wight had 8 cars breakdown because the water in the fuel fecked the system lol
So could well be dodgy fuel at the moment causing an issue
