So this is now back on the road as of last Friday. Had to pay an extra £220 for the insurance which was a pain but I guess is it a higher insurance group than the D turbo even with all the mods.
So I was emptying the car of all the wheels and bits and bobs, had the car running to warm up and noticed a coolant leak. The radiator had decided to start leaking. So after me getting a bit angry and saying a few swear words I found a stop leak thing a put that in for the time being and seems to have done the job. I've got a 2nd hand rad to go in which I will plan on doing tomorrow weather permitting. Also I must say it does feel flat after doing the D turbo for 4 months

I took the tyres off them now to refurb them when I have time. Tempted to put the challengers on but I think I will just leave it with the awesome lasers

Got the rad replaced the other day so now holding coolant fine again
I drove this....
Safe to say I'll take a XUD/HDi with positive manifold pressure any day. Though...hellish comfy seat.

Think this could do with a few pics. I got a couple from sorting some bits on these
When I did the rad I stripped the whole front end off to make it easier and I put the standard tow eye back on Also 1 of the diaphragms on the inlet wasn't working so I got 1 of the 1s that I repaired back along and fitted it and it feels like it has made a difference to the performance Will try and get some more pics some time. I may even give it a wash

Got a few bits done on this over the weekend. On Saturday went with Jimbo, Mike and craig to the diablo d turbo that jimbo is using the engine out of and its now going scrap. Got a few bits off it for me which were the rear bumper and fuel cap. Got a few other spare bits as well. So Sunday I popped down work to get the bits fitted
So the old fuel cap with its lacquer peel And the new 1 fitted No rear bumper Old bumper off and cut in half so it would fit in the bin And the new bumper fitted As you can see the car does need a wash as it does have a few green bits from it being stood up for 5 months. I'll try and get round to washing it this week and get some more pics

Over the last few weeks I have started having an issue with my aux set up on this with it being noisy and alternator and power steering playing up. So tonight I got round to having a look. I will let the video do the talking
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U86Ses_coOA So as you cant see the bottom pulley has given up. So I got it replaced with 1 that I got off of 1 of my spare engines and is all now working find. I also popped a new aux belt on while I was at it. Also I finally got round to fitting the proper power steering oil feed pipe that I have had for about a year and a half. The 1 that was on there was 1 I had just cut down to fit and the proper 1 I've got a few other bits to do to it when I get round to it and will of course update

Not updated this for a while. Still driving it but was losing the love due to a few issues that I have now sorted. Had the idle control valve playing up which was making driving it a real pain but I got 1 sort off aggy off here which he posted out very quick and was a great help. So got that changed and back idling as it should be.
Onto my next issue which was lack of performance down low in the revs which wasn't a massive pain but I wanted it sorting. I found my issue was with 1 of the inlet diaphragms. I had spent a while trying to get hold to get hold of a 2nd hand 1 but had no joy and then looked on ebay etc for a new 1 and also had no luck. Then I found out Peugeot don't have any anymore but mr fish found me a number that had some old stock and had 1 diaphragm let so I got that Finally I had a bit of a blow from the exhaust on the decat pipe. So took the home brew decat pipe off to weld it up and put it back on and all sounds better now. Thats all the issues sorted for now and I am feeling the love back for the car now

I think there is some kind of flaps in the inlet that is something todo with letting more air in at higher revs I guess. I may have to take an inlet apart sometime to see what goes on in there (05-05-2014, 09:06 PM)aggyj17 Wrote: Glad I could help mate i know how difficult it can be getting s16 parts Yeah massive help cheers. I have most bits as I have 3 engines but didn't have any icv left

So not much was really happening with this and was losing the love and sadly now this car has gone to a new home. It really was a great car and was lovely to drive. I'm glad i had the chance to own a S16 as they are getting pretty rare now but it was time to shift it on for someone else to enjoy it. Hopefully i will still get to see it in the future still going strong.
1 finally pic as mr fish kindly trailer-ed it to the new own last weekend |
