You think? She's a no history one though

Well what a horrible bloody day it is and I've just been out in it changing my shocks All done now though and the car is actually a pleasure to drive again except for i was a cheap bastard and reused some old top mounts. Turns out one was buggered so I've now got to have the drivers shock off again to change that.
[attachment=12350] [attachment=12351] Also, postie woke me up nice and early today to bring loads of parcels. Mostly just small little bits but got my bargain brand new engine loom. Need to change two of the plugs and add the wires for a ICV but that should all only take me 20 minutes so not bad considering i paid less than half price for it. [attachment=12352]

So i don't think me and the Postman are friends any more. He did not look happy when delivering this lot in the pissing rain
[attachment=12437] I was aiming today to get the loom modified to fit properly and get the ICV on but ASH hoses haven't sent me my 1" I/D hose. Instead they sent me 1mm I/D hose . If the weather is any good tomorrow, ill get the loom modified, gearbox painted and probably drop the engine down onto a pallet so i can get the flywheel seal and flywheel back on.

Its actually from a Volvo V70 but probably the same as a MI16 as its a very widely used one. Its a 2 wire (opposed to the standard GTI 3 wire) which means its quite a bit easier to set up when the cars mapped and also, its much easier to mount remotely. I would of stuck with the standard one if there was somewhere on my manifold to bolt it but theres not and i don't want to start cutting holes in it lol.

Awww...so won't be done if/when i come up to Grants on 18th then. Poor show.
04-01-2014, 11:44 PM
No sorry mate. Still not sure if I'm going to have to set the mapping back. Have been reading around and most people are saying generally they will use over a tank of fuel on the mapping alone then I've got the cost of mapping and a few other bits still to buy plus potentially having to get the car put on a flat bed to the rolling road but thats dependant on how well it runs on the base map.

Hmmm....fair enough. Kinda the same as me not being sure if im gonna make it up to you anyway, but purely because i cant afford to pay anything, let alone cover the fuel to Grants and back. Know dat feel bro. Good luck with it anyway man, gonna have to keep a closer eye on this thread i think!

Don't worry about paying for stuff if you come up here mate. Just as long as you can afford your fuel up here, thats alright

I'm sure we will still have a merry time if that's what you are worried about! It looks like the cellar of my local pub at the moment. Loads of left over food to. Just bring you and your car Niall, you are getting that car mapped in February.
