Got to agree with Pellowe, much as it pains me lol. The issues since getting it on the road have been down to bodges or unfinished jobs, you've just been unlucky enough (or maybe they were bodged enough :p ) that its all happened early on. Hope you don't give up though, this could be so awesome.

the irritation is the belt was being sorted yesterday if it werent for the beakdown and the oil cooler connection had been fine for a 1000+ miles.
sucks to be me. Wishes for more power...

Building the engine up is the easy bit.
Sorting out all the niggles and getting it to run reliably is the fun bit My black zx was on the back of an AA truck twice within months of being back on the rd, plus numerous roadside rescues from loving friends. You'll be fine, get the hose back on, oil in, belt on and away you go again!

Im guna get some better connections, realign the ac pump, flush oil and then see what engine damage may have been done

Unlucky pal, Hope it all works out for you. I was enjoying this thread :<

You can't let it get you down, I don't really need to say it but you've built the engine yourself the entire car yourself that's a hell of a lot more than most people would even consider doing let alone at home not in a fully equipped garage

I'm bit chipper this afternoon...the 106nad passed with two advisories about front tyres so thats put a smile on me face.
and I got some work done today and got paid for it. now the suns out. feeling good. Also cleaned all the oil off this morning, so it at least looks better. New oil arrived too. So I am having a brew and a biscuit, then I go out and remove cooler, order better fittings, and hack away at some bits to make better fit the front end bits, rad, fmic pipes etc. and work out a way to get more air flow to the rad. found the cause of both failures. oddly neither connected to my less conventional fittings.
aux belt shredded due to a/c pump clutch dying I think so I need a new one. may wack on a belt missing the a/c for now as a/c is plan for spring Wishes for more power...
