Looks like its been towed badly at some point. Hopefully somebody can come up and weld it for you.

Yeh I think the previous owner said it was pulled onto a tow truck in Amsterdam by utter retards...
anyway... day before FCS... at FCS! So yeh in the end the day before FCS: New foglights Yellow tint for foglights New Slam Panel Tapped Standard Inlet Elbow for boost gauge GTI6 Splitter Bumper lined up! Two hours before leaving for FCS... Bucket seats and harnesses go in! Yes they are only held in by 3 of 4 bolts but I bought them for the show so used them anyway! Also I never posted pictures of it at pugfest...

most probably! At least people were looking at it though! Really annoyed I couldnt get it perfect for the show. I still have my £100 of halfords paint to respray the roof bars, mirrors, wiper arms, scuttle panel etc! :'(

Looked smart mate I had a nosey round it any more plans for it?
01-09-2013, 08:57 PM
ok right what has been happening....
not a lot really! I had my bucket seats in for FCS. I am still waiting for demon tweaks to sort that out. Apparently they are talking to COBRA about it.... and taking a bloody long time to do it! Ive just come back from holiday in cornwall where I was sailing. Car towed the 15 foot catamaran all the way to Pentewan and back no problem. Got lots of attention from local 306s haha. Spotted a white slammed dturbo around pentewan and a moonstone with anthracite wheels in St Austel. Plans.... well its 7000 miles over due a service so that will be done later this week hopefully. And it needs a good clean and vacuum. Then after that it will get some shinies but I have every intention to FMIC it and go stage 2. I start in London on the 21st of October so Ill be moving there soon D: I want to leave close enough in to commute to southbank in under an hour but also far enough out to still own a car and socialise with you people!

Does that mean we are getting a new car fwiend in London?

Mate don't worry, mine is a few thousand overdue a service too (and 80,000 overdue a cambelt lol). Im not doing it cos I have a new engine to go it.
What part of london are you looking to move into? I'm less than an hour from Marleybone by train
02-09-2013, 02:45 PM
All the way to pentewan, and didnt ask to see me or Darren. He lives like a 5minuite walk from there!
Doesnt even own a 306.
02-09-2013, 07:38 PM
Lol, is that old Russian tractor still at pentewan?
Welding and fabrication projects undertaken, contact me for more information.

I did see a moonstone lowered on anthracite cyclones in town and a white dturbo on red wheels! (02-09-2013, 07:38 PM)Jonny81191 Wrote: Lol, is that old Russian tractor still at pentewan? There was a tractor used for pulling the boats around but it wasnt obviously russian! =============================================== Right! All my service stuff has arrived. No idea if its any good or not but I decided to buy all the same brand stuff from ECP as it was the stuff that wasnt the most expensive but wasnt the cheapest either. Ive got my oil filter wrench from halfords and now im just waiting for the oil! The bucket seats and harnesses have been removed from the car and the original half leathers are back in. Demon tweeks wanted photos off the car and I needed to transport 3 people to Liverpool for a sailing competition. My Maystar QXT455 amp is back in which is massive but so much better than the 700W kenwood. I presume its a lot more powerful but i dont know anything about it really! Every time i turn something electrical on it booms so i presume its a bad earth?

Right! All my service bits arrived and im very impressed. £36 for everything including delivery is a bargain! Anyway I needed to see toms306 today for some stickers so we did the service at his house.
First up was the air filter... then the fuel filter... and the housing that didnt want to go back on! Then we changed the oil filter and oil. Brilliant fun that was as the lower brace meant we could get the sump plug out and the top brace meant we couldnt get the oil in! Seemed to have no lumps or clogs what so ever! Hope that the screws we found in the tub were in there to begin with as well! and then after all that I took it through the car wash at BP. Nice and shiney for £3. And a few more pictures from work! and I also got another Because RaceEstate sticker made up because everyone thought the last one was race state! D: Sorted!

So that service went well.
I drove to work and parked up. Came back 30 minutes later to a completely flat tyre. Jacked it up and there was a stone lodged in the tyre. Brilliant. Took 20 minutes to get the spare out as I didnt have the peugeot wheel brace you need to drop the spare wheel carrier. It then dropped down onto my hand and crushed it. Fitted the spare... and the bolts were too long so the wheel wobbled. Borrowed the work truck for the night and brought a spare cyclone to work and fitted it. Picking the repaired tyre up from the garage tomorrow morning and its cost £18 to get it bunged and balanced. Still cheaper than a new tyre but what a pain! Anyway. Trying to ramp up progress before I bin all of my spare parts, move to London and more importantly go to the might car mods meet! So the first thing was to fix the windscreen seal that has bee plaguing me for more than 6 months now! and then I finally decided to fit my reversing camera. Didnt take half as long as I thought! It works so now ive just got to tidy all the wires away and get a reversing live to the headunit tso it automatically comes on when i reverse. Nice! Also because of the MCM meet my bucket seats should be going back in. And this time they will be properly bolted in and too high!
01-10-2013, 11:17 AM
So my tyre was repaired! £16 to bung it up which seems a fair price. I asked if they had time in the afternoon to fit my decat and sure enough 6 hours later I was having it fitted.
Firstly the car wouldnt go into the garage never mind the ramp. Reversing in solved that one and all the guys working there liked the car and I had a decent chat with them about it. I made sure to watch as they were getting the old cat off and sure enough the stud snapped off. Out came the heat and they got the other one off before replacing the studs. Cat then would'nt fit on so studs were removed and replaced with bolts (apparently). The result? Its so much nicer to drive and isnt as hesitant any more. You can hear the turbo spooling up and lot more and there is definitely a bit more power. At first there was massive smoke but hardly any now £30 to fit which I thought was a good price seeing as I would never have been able to fix the stud problem at home!

Haha, see why I didn't wanna do the decat now.
£30 isn't bad for it fitted tbf though.

Dude f*ck living in East Ham, it is an utter shit tip and apparently has got worse since I was last there. IIRC its part of the second most deprived borough in the country, one of the highest crime rates in the country and also one of the places where people have been trying to implement sharia law. I wouldn't live there if you paid me

So things that have been happening. I finally finished wiring my reversing camera. Reversing live taken from the reverse light is used to power the camera and also goes to the head unit to automatically turn the feed on when its on.
Had to grind down the boot plastics a bit to take the cables. This piece of trim is such a ballache in the estate. it falls off all the time! then stickback foam wasnt going to cut it so i cable tied the camera to the upper brake light. Not a bad job! put it in reverse and voila! cuts out the ps2 feed and displays whats behind you! I used it today getting out of street parking and was amazed with how far i could go back. From inside the car it looked like i was literally on the other cars bumper! and then other things. I finally got my frames sorted which means my bucket seats and sparco harnesses are now in properly. Excuse the kayak ruining the picture! and here is an interior shot of whats going on at the moment. Got some serious boost on display! Excuse the crap quality pictures. Ive dropped my nexus 4 after 2 weeks of ownership and im back to 2 whole mega-pixels!
04-10-2013, 04:04 PM
Here we go! After posting on the chat box that I was going to give it a go... i then went to the garage. Who then said they were busy. So then I did do it myself. And it was easy!
Dahhh ddaaaaa! Bleeding them wasnt to difficult. The pipe i brought was too small so I had to cut the boost gauge pipe off and bleed the brakes with that. But yeh they work as they should and theyre a lot better although i havent slammed my foot down yet. The pedal does feel spongey though so i presume i need the gti6 MC. Im having massive problems paying for my last expensive purchase which everyone will get to see when they arrive. And... I may be picking up a twin pass intercooler and pipework on sunday morning. Stage 2 here we come!
04-10-2013, 04:05 PM
The interior is CRYING for some form of steering wheel (dished ofc)
Sam, you probably have the GTi6 MC, most X plates on seem to...spongy brakes is air in the system....

I was bleeding it into a container and the pipe was under the brake fluid so it could only have drawn fluid into the system and not air It feels like the 1.8 did when it had 6 brakes. Suede is ruined after a year or so where as the leather will last.
Well look at the underneath of your MC, I expect it will have a big 23 stamped on it....
The different MC's will only change the pedal travel anyway. If they are spongy, it can only be air in the system causing that.
04-10-2013, 04:23 PM
The brakes will have more travel but you should be able to tell if they have air in the system or your just not used to the pedal travel.
