oh yes, i certainly am looking forward to driving it again, and yes, also to see what sort of figures its gonna be producing on the dyno
it really helps me prioritize the order in which im going to do stuff if im actually driving the car regularly, if its just sat in the garage like it has been for the last 3 months the to do list just gets insane because everytime i open the doors i think of something else to do, but yes, exciting week
pleased with my light haul, been working with one halogen light mounted on a wall and a couple of inspection lamps upto this point, gonna be nice to have the place lit up properly

Right then, really cracked on with getting some stuff sorted tonight in an effort to get the car ready to drive on wednesday when the glass man comes, first up, after a trip to the tool hire shop to get the right size hole saw, made my new gauge surround:
cut the holes out, no trips to a&e so successful so far
about an hour of filing and swearing to get it to fit flush:
shotblasted to get a nice smooth surface
painted
finished
oh and the paint is finished on the bits for the 11mm pump, just wacked the bits on for a picture, il re-assemble properly later in the week
picture definatly doesnt do it justice, but the white bits look great, really glossy
im off to measure up the car now to make some brackets for the new bonnet pins to mount too, make them after work tommorrow then hopefully get it mounted and ready to roll

Bollocks!!!!
theres customers at work today and tommorrow so i wont be able to go in and make up the brackets i need to mount the bonnet pins too.
to cheer myself up ive bought a new egt gauge and some 405 wiper washers so i dont have to drill holes for mist jets in the fibreglass bonnet, also a big box of assorted wiring and blanking grommets to finish of the holes that i drilled through the bulkhead for gauge sensors and blank off the hole in the roof where the aerial used to be. its got to go to the body shop at some point to get the uneven roof dents filled and painted so il get the hole properly blanked off then.
still working on the perspex sunroof replacement, need to take the original glass out of the cartridge to send to the machine shop to use as a template but that can wait.
il put everything back together later ready for the new glass tommorrow, so annoyed about not been able to mount my bonnet, is it legal to drive without one? haha

having a half day off work to get the car ready to drive again plus a good clean inside and out, broken glass and oily hand prints everywhere.
gonna have to leave the screen sealant to set for 24 hours after its so itl be ready just in time to start my weekend off properly.

so far today:
put most of the dash back together, new white bits look better than i thought. putting the sunroof back in by myself was interesting to say the least, twatted myself on the head with it a few times haha
then the glass man came, new screen sorted
really need to get the roof repaired properly, it looks absolutely gash, big dip in the middle still and loads of ripples and high points
knocked up some temporary bonnet pin brackets, just need to get it on so i can drive it to the workshop and fabricate some proper ones as its an incredibly hard thing to make when you only have pictures and a tape measure to go by
just waiting on royal fail now to deliver my 405 wipers so i can get them on and sorted
the cars looking a bit sorry for itself, quite a few battle scars from its ordeal with the bonnet and loads of little scratches and scuffs as the result of been crammed in an already full garage. needs a bloody good clean and t-cutting.
I cant stop thinking about how shit the roof looks, really bugging me

When you putting it on a RR? And just realised this has Chrystal's, you going to do something about the gap with the ph1 bonnet?

possibly going to the midlands meet on the 27th for a dyno run, but this depends heavily on funds this month, then will be definatly going to the south west meet on 2nd feb for a dyno at ray west.
ive got a smooth phase 3 grill that was purchsed with intent to cover up the light gap but i hated the look of it as soon as i tried it, so back to phase 1 grill. i bought some new hockey sticks from the scrappy the other day to cover the gap under the lights so should make it look slightly better.
really want the bonnet painting and the roof sorted. can set about beefing up the power a bit when its sorted. also was looking at it from a distance earlier and decided it needs to go lower again, like it was in my avatar pic
*smoothed phase 3 bonnet and grill
