This and also if your hit by another car that car has its own crumple zone.
I was doing about 15mph. thats not very fast really when you consider a 6 will do about 50mph in reverse

I don't think it's the fact that the car will do 50mph in reverse it's the fact of, why the need to reverse at 15mph into a dark parking space..
Either way, gutted for you mate, car was really looking smart

I tested this earlier, 10mph is damn quick in reverse, didn't have the bottle for 15 in my little driveway
Either way, that sucks mate...interested in what the next project is though!

Tbh, looking at the damage that's been done, I think 15mph might be a bit of an exaggeration. Not that I doubt your judgement dum, but as said, 15mph is pretty fast in reverse.

But I suppose that 20mph impact would have been spread across all the back end of the car and the same with the front of the other car, rather than slightly slower speed but the whole force concentrated from a solid object into a small area

ah shit, this isn't good, but one way or another you know deep down you can't own a car for more than 3 months without scrapping it and getting something better.
You will make plenty breaking it no doubt.
