The ECU is still with OMEX and I havent heard anything back yet. I have been sorting out the GoPro as it was full. Here is one old video after I had balanced the throttlebodies.

Yes lots of engine movement and yes terrible wiring. Enjoy.

Did you find any decent footage of any of are track outings?

Turbo sound like a epic idea I reckon you could sell the bodies on quite quickly to someone aswellDodgy

No plans for turbo madness yet. GTI6 head first and then once im bored of that itll be time to move on. Just put those links there so i remember them as info is difficult to find for mods for these engines.

Ive got some track footage so should upload that later today.

So the car is working and im happy!

Sit Rep...
Interior is in pieces
Car is filthy and full of crap
suspension is bottoming out
drop links are too short
insurance needs paying
tax needs paying

The polishing kit for my wheels has arrived so hopefully I can get those refurbed. I'm going to fit shocks and springs and hopefully get the coilovers machined to stop them bottoming out.

Posted this in the other thread but yes. The parcel was delivered at 11am on Tuesday. I rang up 11am on Friday as I hadnt heard anything and they hadn't even opened the box. They did however get to it straight away and called me back in 30 minutes. In that 30 minutes that had tested it and fixed it. There was a dry solder joint on the EEPROM chip which is obviously the main chip so that was causing all the problems. They re-soldered it and was working fine. They said it was a free fix because it only took 30 minutes and I would only have to pay the courier fee. I asked for Saturday delivery and it arrived by lunch time. Fitted to the car and started first time! No more problems! Big Grin

I sent the ecu back with part of the case missing too and it came but with all new bolts and new case parts. Still had my original map on so I presume its the same ECU. Could easily be a replacement one though!

Very annoying it was something that wasnt my fault. Felt so sure that my wiring was suspect but after redoing it all I couldnt find anything wrong.

Well at least your loom has been done now and nicely! They may have just sent you a refurb ECU if they didn't have time to repair yours and then they will refurb yours and send it off as a refurb to someone else.

On the lookout for a 3 door XS or gti6. Has to be in diablo. Dont care about the engine as I just want to swap the engine and have a 3 door. I want to have a 3 door so I can cage it. Once thats done I can probably get rid of the fondmetals (put them on the estate or another daily) and fit some mad brakes. Then the 3 door can become a semi-stripped track car!

This car is doing my f*cking nut in. So the ECU problems all fixed and fine.

However the decat sheared in half an inch before the joint. So I did 150 miles with just a decat as an exhaust... especially horrible through the dartford crossing.

I used my lunch hour today to get under the car. Managed to bodge on the magnex. Its quiet enough to drive around now but I couldnt get all the rubbers on and its a crap joint where its sheared. Had to enlarge the opening to go over the decat pipe...

Its on but its scraping down all the country roads. Didnt have a centre box before and now having a rather large one on the magnex means its catching on everything. :/

for a 1.8? I think not... This is the problem. ive got a decent magnex, grand new gti6 decat, GTI6 exhaust manifold and all the bits and bobs to fit! But... its a pain to fit so might as well be fitted when the head comes off... which wont be happening till ive got a place to do it or until its nicer weather next year!

You haven't met Sam. If he's bodged his exhaust together, its probably 4ft away from the underside of the car!!

Sorry to hear its still giving trouble man, can you get it down to a exhaust place for a quick spot of welding?

could do but ive put the magnex on for now. It took an hour and a half to fit! Would be a doddle if it was all the right stuff but trying to bodge things together is a pain. Could possibly get it welded but it was about 10mm too short anyway which left gaps in places. The back box has rotten through again as well. Its the second backbox Ive been through in year!

Maybe has something to do with the fact you are blowing holes in the whole thing?

I dont think I am. This is a completely standard car. It definitely does not pop or bang.

undoubtedly. Wont be doing that once the magnex is on properly! Think Ill get a different exhaust tbh. The magnex is alright for now but I dont trust some of the welding.

If it's a diablo 6 wouldn't be cheaper to keep it a 6 swap all the bits over.less hassle more power probably cheaper less hassle with insurance.
