The checkstrap is the bit that goes from the door to the chassis that holds it open, often clicks like a bastard, someone's removed the roll pin from yours so it stays in and doesn't click when you open the door...

Ah okay I have a roll pin, I'll see how I can fit it

screwdriver through the checkstrap to pull it out of the car, then line it up and tap the roll pin home with something hard . .

Thanks mate hopefully it doesn't click like my 1.4 did
