So I went to Europe and this happened..
Basically, in a tunnel in Lyon, the aux belt let go at 5k, and went into the cambelt, round the bottom pulley and caused the belt to slip several teeth, mashing the valves into the pistons. Broke half of the rockers, so we attempted to get it running on 2 cylinders, which failed
So I've finally got the beast back home via an epic road trip in a flatbed to go and get it back into the UK (Big thanks to Vaughan and Fooby, top lads!), then used my AA relay to get me back from Fooby's.
New engine is going to be picked up this weekend, and will be fitted on the bank holiday weekend. Then, once I've rebuilt the current engine as a spare, we'll see just how much fuel I can get in before something melts
