The Racetractor. The End.
Gotta say I dont think the 1749 is gonna be quite big enough for this engine and 11mm fueling.

Might be big enough if combined with something bigger ...

Well the gt25 won't spool itself ...

The 2559v he was looking at would have been useable I think, laggy as all fook for a vnt, but I think it'd work. Might be a bit oversized on something thats meant to be a drivable gt though lol. Compound ftmfw if we're honest though hhaha!

Gas flow is what you need to worry about, not cylinder capacity. Max is right too, if thats the hp side of a compound arrangement I think it might be a bit big, especially on the exhaust side... Confused

whilst you are all arguing over what I am going to do with my collection of turbos....

Swapped old buggered ph1 rad for a nice nissens bargain! thanks SKoob!

with all the mods and 2.1.....its a SERIOUSLY tight fit. I had -mm to spare!

the nissens rad is a bit wider too....so clearances are rather close...

got about 3/4mm between rad and alternator! but thankfully polybushed lower engine mount doesnt let things move too much!

also sorted my aux tensioner which was kok eyed.

so had a quick look at why my oil catch tank was not catching oil and rather spraying it over my gbox and turbo.

opened it up to find this:

not best pleased Angry

so cut some thin metal out, drilled some holes in it, cut to fit the tank, and wacked some wire wool in the one side. hoping that will sort things out.

The 44 is a bit small IMO.

A/R of .33 is great....but the gt1749s is still only .46 with the 2056 at .53

Amazingly the gt1549 is .48 which shows the big difference between the 1544 and 1549!

although the trim seems better on the 1544......hmmmm

Lol, so there wasn't any stuffing in it after all, funny that... :p

I think you'll be surprised at just how much difference the ar makes, especially when you consider the differences in turbines.

TEETHING problems!? Do you not recall the catastrophic HG failure on day one of running....that was with all the other oil line fails!

Im getting it towed back tonight.
Then ordering couple bits. Keep off road for a week to sort these two issues out.

Aux belt.
Oil lines.

Sort them for good!

In meantime...start getting parts flocked!

Yeah but the HG can be put down to complacency mate. Lesson learned but a corner was cut and you paid the price. Least it only cost you a skim and gasket set, my complacency cost me about £600 in turbos. When it's user error though you can only really take it on the chin and learn from it, no matter how daft it seems. Hence.. teething trouble.

The oil lines though.. not sure why they pop. Did you PTFE the fittings and torque them properly? Seem to remember talk from Mocal about not overtightening them, and then people tighten them up FT anyway because they work loose.

Might want to clean that oil off, can't be too good for the paint.
