Dan! Wrote:Id still put money on the inlet / outlet lines getting mixed up tbh...... Yeh that would cause similer issues to a fooked vane pump, But how the hell can you mix them up, there totally different and one says OUT on it lol? | Dyno Power Runs & Steady State Facilities Available, Just Ask Anytime |

because the tmic isnt on!
i thought it would start with out it Quote:(15:06:27) Toms306: Wd40d it and had a good tug, came straight off

It will start fine without the tmic fitted, dont worry about that. And I doubt the fuel lines on everyone elses cars will still have the tabs fitted and be run the same routing as yours.
Il draw in paint for you quickly to show how the fuel pipes should be connected.

Here you go....
As you can see, the pipe from the filter housing goes to the left on the bosch and the right on the lucas. And the other pipe is right on the bosch but to the left on the lucas. So obviously if you just bolted the pipe to the nearest part of the pump then they will be on wrogn and it wont run! Very easy mistake to make if you arent an expert on the XUD
24-04-2012, 08:33 AM
can you tell me what the green tab pipe is and the white tab pipe is?

I have honestly never heard of these tabs you keep referring to mate Honestly, just find the fuel grenade, and follow the pipe, it should go to the fuel filter housing in the back, then the pipe coming out the top should go to the left hand side of the bosch pump. The other fuel line which just comes from the back of the engine bay goes to the right hand side of the pump.

Okay well iv still never heard of them, so forget about the tabs and just check the diagram/explantion above and compare it to yours, or at least get us a decent photo of your engine bay

Dan, the actual plastic bend in the fuel lines where it clips to the inner wing is colour coded green and white, i can't remember which is which though!
24-04-2012, 09:52 AM
Mmmm, maybe as standard, im sure Jakes and Bens arent like that though because iv never noticed it, and I spend ALL my time working on them

Ok, this might help a little bit..
GREEN: back of fuel pump WHITE: fuel filter

so the white one is your feed via the grenade and filter housing to the right hand connection on the pump and the green one is your return which goes to the spigot on the left of the pump just below the LDA assembly where the leak off from the injectors connects to

You will more than likely need to extend the pipe that comes off the top of the fuel filter housing because it goes to the left of the bosch and will probably only be long enough to go to the left, because thats where it goes to on the lucas.
