Mine slipped on a stage one.. But not stage 2, only happened once going up a rather large hill

The clamping force of the clutch gets stronger up to a point until it's completely screwed.. sometimes it can just bed back in though, wait and see how it goes i guess.. Providing you aren't nailing it in high gears from like 2k then it should last ages tbh

Heh, we'll see. I've had this clutch for around 3000 miles, and only had a stage 2 on it for about 500, so we'll see.

I'll sure enough let you guys know if it fails.

Lol, my car has done more miles than you recently.

Even with chronic boost leaks and an exhaust full of spare parts it still refuses to break.

Just wondering is yours as quick as other stage 2 cars and what exhaust do you have?

Stage 2 should ra*e a standard clutch with a good map and a car running right. I even managed to slip a brand new DT set up.

It's Steve's stage 2, and standard exhaust without a cat. The only other mods are 072 injectors, which I've noticed a huge difference over the 044!

It goes like a bloody rocket, but I need something that will hold. Hopefully buying a 6 next month, so I'll see what's what then! What clutch worked for you?

A better map and a straight through back bow would probably be worth 15bhp

A straight back is on the cards soon! Should probably sort the clutch beforehand, right?

Definately do the clutch first, when we did a straight through back box on my estate after it was stage 2'd the SG showed it added 8bhp which BIM was 10% out is probably actually 9bhp

Aye I'll need to! I still have a newish LuK one, can I be tight and just add a new pressure plate or something cheap to hold the power?

You could add a new friction plate to try and hold the power then you have either the massive f*ck on of either paying someone else to fit a new clutch yet again or having the box off yourself again. You wanna make sure whatever you stick in is gonna wort first time.

Paying someone to do it as my mate is a mechanic, he's getting a bit sick of working on my car with me after fitting the cooler. Says there's not enough space in the engine bay. To be fair, I like working with tight spaces Wink

So a pressure plate would do it?

Paying someone to it isn't much of an issue*

My mate has had a panel filter, straight through exhaust, fmic and a map and his HDi will stick/beat anything under a Focus ST/Astra VXR. Not bad to say it's only kicking about 140 bhp

Thats nice.

Some of us build brutal HDis that run nearly 170bhp on standard turbos, pumps and injectors and will out accelerate an integra type r.

Why not get your mate to sign up and well see if we can find him enough power to need an updated clutch.
