FAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRKKKKKKKKKKKK!
Well, sort of. Good news everyone, I got this from PFC this morning: Quote:Thanks for submitting your entry to the Meguiar’s Top 15 competition at PFC Day on Sunday 16th September at Knockhill Racing Circuit. We would like to congratulate you on being successful and invite you to the competition. ..which is absolutely brilliant news imo. Might not be the biggest show of the year but it's some recogniition and a relatively local compromise after missing out on FCS. Only downside is i've now got basically a week and a half to clean up the car in preparation for it. I'm off today, tomorrow, sun mon tues, and a week on sunday. They're my only days off and the only chance i'll have to get stuff sorted. So, today... rear debadge/declutter: done. Also got a few snaps the other night of the new stick0rz. Some of you have seen them already on Facebook, opinions seem divided. Saw a sticker today though that sums it up- "You laugh because i'm different, I laugh because you're all the same" Touché. Anyway snaps up

Hhhmmmm may I suggest removing the flower stickers if you are going in the standard class as I feel they may ruin your chances of winning
Lol Good luck

I absolutely adore this car.. I think it does need the log book transferring into my name to be perfectly honest though, it's the one thing that lets it down currently.
First dibs if/when you ever sell!
paint thw wheel center in white pleaseeee

Small thing but it always stands out to me on your car, paint the white bits behind the bumper black to match the intercooler as itll make the contrast between white bumper, red silicones and shiny pipes stand out more and also make it look more smoothed.

Like the idea with the flowers, but think it's too much when combined with the vent, cable ties and windscreen sticker all on the nsf corner. But then again i'm a picky bastard, still love it! :p

Right, deep breath. Massive update time.
Firstly, a few days after the above pics were taken, I was approached by Neil (staff writer from PFC who stays up my way) to enter the car for the Meguiars Top 15 at the PFC French Car Day at Knockhill Racing Circuit on the 16th (last Sunday). I was sceptical given that the estate was a bit rough up close but thought what the hell, I missed FCS so why not stick the estate in the pot and see what happens? Nothing happened for a while. Apart from dodging some broken glass outside my sister's house and kerbing the NSF wheel over half way round. Bummer. I then got a message from Jillian on Facebook saying to get it sorted sharpish as it'd been picked for the "styling" category in the Top 15. Bollocks. Also between then and the show i'd put in for two days' overtime plus my normal shifts, so I actually only had two full days to prep the car. Me being me, I decided to not only fix any problems but also fit a roof spoiler from an Impreza WRX wagon for a bit of love-it-or-hate-it ducktail action. The result? Lots of late nights, lots of filler and paint and lots of "wtf am i doing?" moments. Here's some pics to give you an idea of what i've been up to... Safe to say, we made it, but not without plenty of near misses. More to follow..

Paint done, in the nick of time, and on the way to Knockhill
The complete list of work technically done over two days and a few evening is as follows: Fitted, smoothed and painted WRX spoiler Painted roof Painted front wing Painted calipers Repainted lip of NSF wheel Clay barred, polished and sealed all over Degreased engine bay Doesnt seem a lot but blending the spoiler took ages and it still isnt perfect but we ran well behind schedule and had to kind of say "that'll do". Anyway, on we went up to Knockhill at 7am Sunday morning. All entrants had to be in by 8.30am and we would have been had it not been for the leak off injector to pump line popping off on the motorway, I estimate to have lost about 10L of fuelover the space of a few minutes as the fuel light wasn't on when we set off, I stuck a tenner in at the house and the fuel light was now on. Fail. Made it to a petrol station and stuck another tenner in which also disappeared pretty quickly, the leak off had hardened (presumably thanks to the veg) and didn't stop leaking until I trimmed about 2" off it and reconnected, seems to be holding ok now. In total we did 86 miles to about £25 worth of veg and diesel, ouch. Even the GTi would have been better than that! The day went ok to be honest, not the busiest but met a couple of fellas off here (albeit not the johnny I thought, I was looking for the TB'd S16 and all I got was a diesel estate ) and the estate seemed to have hit the sweet spot with a couple of judges. by the end of the day I'd picked up: Meguiar's Top 15 Best Styling Award Knockhill Racing Circuit Best Modified Award Not a bad couple of prizes, there were some seriously tidy motors there and i'm over the moon to have won anything at all, I was happy to just be in the top 15! There were a few 205's, a couple of R26's, a Berlingo, Cherry's monster 106, two Ecosse motors, Rab's minty mint 205 CTi...standards of some of the motors were really high, and the guys from Megs told me the Styling award was between mine and the 205 next to me on the Borbets, which was seriously tidy. Must have been the stanceboard that won it for me Will post up pics when i've uploaded them. But yeah, in short, not been on here as it's been manic getting ready for the show but it all seems to have paid off I've also been contacted by Davy, the editor of PFC, who wants to put the state in the Readers' Cars section this month and get a proper feature when he can get a 'tog north of the border. If i'd have made FCS this year it would have been awesome all round **PIC HEAVY**

I noticed the ducktail in the other photos someone linked to and wondered where it came from. I like that.

Well done on the awards!
I know it was played out last year at a lot of shows, but you know what would suit your Hawaiian theme? The surfboard on the roof. Only it has to be a red sunroof, obviously... Disclaimer: The above is not to be taken to heart and is probably a joke, grow up you big girl.
