So thought id start this off just to post updates and more likely questions i have about XUD's in general rather than spamming up the site!
From my old 1.4 Sigma to an identicle, XTDT!
So to begin, i got myself another Sigma, this time an XTDT, and i think when i drove it, it hadn't been touched in a LONG time... There were a fair few webs on it, pedals were VERY stiff but after giving it a drive around for a bit, everything come into place quite nicely.
The bodywork etc. is immaculate apart from the drivers side front quarter panel for which i have a replacement from the old pug, get that on soon!
Interior, erm.. well wood effect dash?? whats with that?? fugly as hell, got my old interior ready to put in, thinking i'll matte black it fist.
Electrics all round which all work fine....
anyway, less chat more pics!
Old:
New:
Fairly clean engine bay, checked the turbo and its running a KKK, wanting to change this..
Rocker Cover Gasket needed?
Also Air filter needs replacing - i think!?
Plans are simple
-Coilovers
-Bosch
-FMIC
-T2 Turbo
cheers
My plans for this are to create an island road car, for 'dicking' cars in the corner, some nice low end boost, maxing out at around 80mph, and no im not endorsing speeding, but large turbos and POOWAAAH is not what this project is about
Just to update where i've got with this 'project' if you like to call it that
I've purchased:
- Coilovers
- Bosch pump
- T2 turbo
- rear beam mounts
- MBC
- boost gauge
So today i managed to change my front quarter panels over
Top panel (before)
also found this plug - any ideas, it was tucked next to my screen wash tank?? im assuming its a sensor for washer tank levels maybe???
Also managed to pipe in my boost gauge, managed to figure out which wires go where but never got round to wiring it - gauge reads a steady 13psi - not too bad, i was expecting a leak somewhere but helps a lot having that in!
pics of this once its all installed with a mount...
plans for next couple weeks to have the whole car lowered on coilovers and

So finally got the bosch pump done with KrisB, really pleased with the work he's done - details of it all found here - fitted bosch pump with lines, injectors etc. new cambelt, tensioners, idler, water pump and so on.
few pics of the day up there
no pump..
Pump
Manky water pump
and general idioticness from Kris..
"hey ginge, i need to shower... my hair is soo greasy..." one of the WORST jokes ever, and yes, there were more...
smoking through a fuel pipe
Really good day up there!
Next on the list is a new clutch, as its not liking the new power at all and is slipping quite bad - if i gradually introduce the boos its not too bad, but foot to the floor and general "RAWW!" it doesnt like it and just screams at me
So hopefully another KrisB jobby!

Plans from here on out are to stiffen the suspension up dramtically with a re-built rear disc beam, with some solid mounts, uprated torsion and AR bars in the new year...
get a valeo clutch fitted to stop this minor clutch slip
look into turbo upgrades, small fast sppoling turbos
uprated inernals (starting to read up on what i should get)

You are brave having coilies on the iow lol. I swear every time I go back the roads get worse, literally every road is a patchwork of potholes and bumps and shit repairs, complete joke.
Not to mention everywhere is a bloody 40. Most of the Yarmouth to Newport road has been reduced to some sort of speed limit instead of NSL since I was last back which is ridiculous.
AND whilst i'm there, Beaper Shute a 50? f*cking joke.
Eep, turned into a bit of a rant there, sorry.
Serious.

lol lewis its not that bad, when you take the same routes reguarly you tend to know where the holes are and can avoid them. the coilies work a treat on 'cruise nights' when you get the chavs chasing you, in the corners they pay off

So went up to see Krisb to get some work done, as usual great day up... a quite frustrating day, to say the least, but the professional he was cracked on to get the job done, couple of pics from the day.
new disc beam going on
new discs on
Then we had the beam on but no shocks on the car....this is the result...

Latest update - Waiting on parts from ebay - new sidelights and some intercooler piping (90* bend)
Have this so far...
Also some clean-ish pics of the car as it stands (also have a spoiler to fit to finish the back off nicely, but where weather is crap its pointless...)
C&C welcome

That just looks evil!
Damn, I want to do more to my car as this one is giving me inspiration, but I fear it won't pass an MOT in 2013 under the new regs. Seriously thinking about another car in the next few months. Dilemma.

So, latest update!
Phil come round to help out re-piping my turbo inlet and to say it was tight is an understatement.
the plan and the layout consists of Turbo - U-bend - 51mm-57mm adapter - 90* piping - adapter - 90* piping.
This brings it down to the front of the engine bay, just above where the standard inlet is.
We had a little run in the car with no piping and the sounds were sexxxuualalll! we were attepting to get some chatter, but it wasn't having any of it.
Phil has all the pictures and no doutb will pop them up at some point
Runs really nice and the turbo spooling sounds are awesome.
Oh, and had to do something with the oil breater also.... PLEASE dont mock, but the only available item was a ripspeed breather

best picture i could get of it, phil has a few of the process on his phone also.
quite tight to say the least, but all fits nicely - currently running standard filter, on the prowl for a decent cone

thanks mate still seems too low at points though, likes to bottom out on large dips and potholes, might consider some stiffer springs at some point
