Thought I would put up a thread on here.
After the death of my last D-turbo i set out to find another.

Emailed a bloke on ebay and he got back to me the next day, With the reply to my email i made my way 115 miles to kings lynn
![[Image: 100_1016.jpg]](http://i39.photobucket.com/albums/e174/austinmini-2008/306%20MK3/100_1016.jpg)
![[Image: 100_1021.jpg]](http://i39.photobucket.com/albums/e174/austinmini-2008/306%20MK3/100_1021.jpg)
![[Image: 100_1019.jpg]](http://i39.photobucket.com/albums/e174/austinmini-2008/306%20MK3/100_1019.jpg)
And of course because it is a black PH1 306 it has laquer peel on the roof.
I got it last november and done a few little bits to it mainly repairs.
When i got it he mentioned that it needed topping up with water every now and again but it got worse then it wouldnt hold water so new radiator was in order.
![[Image: IMG1008.jpg]](http://i39.photobucket.com/albums/e174/austinmini-2008/IMG1008.jpg)
Next was brakes, they had been squeeling and very poor braking effort.
![[Image: 100_1308.jpg]](http://i39.photobucket.com/albums/e174/austinmini-2008/306%20MK3/100_1308.jpg)
![[Image: 100_1310.jpg]](http://i39.photobucket.com/albums/e174/austinmini-2008/306%20MK3/100_1310.jpg)
![[Image: 100_1311.jpg]](http://i39.photobucket.com/albums/e174/austinmini-2008/306%20MK3/100_1311.jpg)
![[Image: 100_1314.jpg]](http://i39.photobucket.com/albums/e174/austinmini-2008/306%20MK3/100_1314.jpg)
Then did a bit of colour coding.
Take one standard mirror cap ...
![[Image: IMG1073.jpg]](http://i39.photobucket.com/albums/e174/austinmini-2008/IMG1073.jpg)
And replace it with a nice shiny black one, Poundlands finest gloss black with some laquer on the top the finish is quite good tbh
![[Image: IMG1074.jpg]](http://i39.photobucket.com/albums/e174/austinmini-2008/IMG1074.jpg)
Painted the side repeaters also the orange was too in your face on a black car
![[Image: IMG1077.jpg]](http://i39.photobucket.com/albums/e174/austinmini-2008/IMG1077.jpg)
Then march comes and a water leak appears causing it to over heat and boil something, so que engine rebuild take 1.
![[Image: WP_000143.jpg]](http://i39.photobucket.com/albums/e174/austinmini-2008/WP_000143.jpg)
Time to rebuild
![[Image: WP_000145.jpg]](http://i39.photobucket.com/albums/e174/austinmini-2008/WP_000145.jpg)
All built back up
Drove it, fitted a PH2 rear axle as mine was starting to camber, fresh mot and it went to FCS
Then august comes and the bolts that hold the engine mount to the block snapped, this is what sealed the fate of my red D-turbo but i was determined to fix it so out comes the engine.

![[Image: DSC00089-1.jpg]](http://i39.photobucket.com/albums/e174/austinmini-2008/DSC00089-1.jpg)
Then off came the box
![[Image: DSC00094-3.jpg]](http://i39.photobucket.com/albums/e174/austinmini-2008/DSC00094-3.jpg)
Out comes the engine
![[Image: DSC00096-1.jpg]](http://i39.photobucket.com/albums/e174/austinmini-2008/DSC00096-1.jpg)
![[Image: DSC00097-3.jpg]](http://i39.photobucket.com/albums/e174/austinmini-2008/DSC00097-3.jpg)
Managed to get the remaining bits of the bolts out with no damage to the thread.
![[Image: DSC00101-3.jpg]](http://i39.photobucket.com/albums/e174/austinmini-2008/DSC00101-3.jpg)
Fitted new bolts with loctite and got the engine and box back in all in a day, Engine crane would have been nice but i didnt have one so had to make do.
Drivers side driveshaft and new rubber engine mount top up with fluids and she was back on the road.
But not for long....
Que engine rebuild take 2
Waterpump failed chucking the cambelt off, it happened at idle and i shut it off before the belt came off completely but too late. timed it back up and its bent a valve.
Got a second hand head which has had a bit of work :
Its been skimmed / dipped
Re ground valve seats
new stem seals
2 replacement valves
And the clearances have been set within spec.
Got a good T2 turbo to bolt on just need a headset and a cambelt but that will be next year now going to wait till the snows gone, ive got myself a cheap winter banger for now.
Sorry about the long thread but thats where its upto now
C&C welcome
