The Rag Top Project
#1
Hi, I am new to this forum, but I have had my 306 since March this year. She isn't my first 306, I've had two others in the past an S16 and and XSI, this however is my first Cabriolet.

So when I purchased earlier this year she was standard apart from some 17" Wolfrace alloys. At the time I thought they really suited the car. I started to get a bit bored during August and on an impulsive a prurchased a slammed Partner Combi. The idea was to sell the 306, but I really didn't think about the time of year and moving ever closer to winter I was forced to sell the Combi.

The Combi was sold for profit (which is always a good thing) and I was bored once again, so I have decided to make the cabriolet a project.

This is what she looked like just a few weeks ago.

I've also had a powerflow decat and exhaust fitted, driver side resprayed and stereo fitted.

5mm spacers are on the rear and 15mm are on order for the front, once they arrive the front will be coming down a bit more.

I'm now thinking about painting my headlights and just a general tidy up.

Cheers.

Front should look different over the next couple of weeks. Gti spoiler, black lights and further lowerage should do the job.

Do love the cabs but I don't think they look that great with the roof up!

Nice tidy looking car mate!

After driving around for a few days im starting to get fed up with the tyres catching on my front arches. So ive got to raise the front, buy smaller spacers or roll the arches. Hmmmm choices choices

Ok im going to be honest here...

Ive never ever loved a 306 cab before in my life....

Ive also never described any french car as "pretty" before...

But seriously....this breaks both of those rules...it looks fantastic!

Maybe.

The exterior is getting close to what i'd planned. Next i will be replacing some windscreen trims, colour coding a couple of things and a few other bits n bobs on the outside.

Mechanicaly i want to uprate the brakes, get a gti inlet and exhaust manifold, induction kit and nos.

Cheers guys.

Ive decided to replace the rear 5mm spacers with some 10's, that might improve the handling, possibly.

Mot is coming up in just over a week, hopefully everything will be fine and i can continue with the project.

I love this car,

Needs more spacing all around / lowerage at the front imo for true stance Smile

I run 20mm spacers all around with my challengers?
Are you running challys or vortex?

I believe they are challengers. The front catches a little still over large bumps, i could go lower with 10mm spacers on the front but i like the stance. 10mm for the rear are in the garage, just waiting on extended wheel nuts. The overall stance is nearly there.
