No voltage at tank lift pump
#1
2.0 HDI would not start.I connected a spare battery to the terminals on the lift pump and the car started and ran fine although not a permanent solution. I have ordered a new fuel pump relay £16.50 as it is worth a punt. Are they under the ECU. If this does not solve it what can I do? As a worst case could I take a 12 volt  feed from the battery to the lift pump with a switch that I put on when the car is running? Would that burn out the pump? I apologise if this has been covered elsewhere.
