No voltage at tank lift pump - KevinTW - 12-06-2015 2.0 HDI would not start.I connected a spare battery to the terminals on the lift pump and the car started and ran fine although not a permanent solution. I have ordered a new fuel pump relay £16.50 as it is worth a punt. Are they under the ECU. If this does not solve it what can I do? As a worst case could I take a 12 volt feed from the battery to the lift pump with a switch that I put on when the car is running? Would that burn out the pump? I apologise if this has been covered elsewhere. RE: No voltage at tank lift pump - cully - 12-06-2015 could be......... ign switch, fuse, impact switch triggered, double fuel relay behind ECU, ecu itself, bulk head connection under windscreen wiper motor to cabin, connectors to the right of the centre console above passenger feet, connectors at the pump, pump itself, any of the cableing in between, that should give you something to start on RE: No voltage at tank lift pump - KevinTW - 12-06-2015 (12-06-2015, 04:13 PM)cully Wrote: could be.........Is the 12 volt feed from the battery via a switch a bad idea? Assuming the new relay is ok if there is still no power at the pump can I run a new feed straight from the relay and if so which wire do I splice into? Anybody know where the impact switch is, what it looks like and whether I can bypass it. RE: No voltage at tank lift pump - Poodle - 12-06-2015 Impact switch is on the passenger side inner wing, near the base of the windscreen, red rubber cap. If it's been triggered you can reset it by simply pressing the button (top face of rubber cap), you'll feel it click with little pressure. If that's down, test the terminals for resistance - if there's no/very low resistance you know the switch isn't the issue. Check each point on the power supply route for power, if there's an issue with the wiring you'll find a point where everything downstream is dead, so work forwards from there.
