I've heard stories of garages refusing to work on alfas!

Mines on 189k albeit the 2.4 150.. I bought it with 172 on it last year and full service history.. Nothing major has gone wrong, clutch went but still, and the volume up button on the steering wheel stopped working last week but everything else is spot on

Go for the alfa

We went from a Mondeo 2.0 tdci ghia x to an alfa 156 2.4 20valve 175 jtdm

And in all aspects the alfa was head and shoulders above the Mondeo

In the three years we had the only things it needed was a pair of wishbones one side and a thermostat, it was a Gm engine so parts are easy to get

We have now sold that and a saab 9-3 ttid 180 and again that sits up another level over the alfa
