Which do I go see tomorrow! New car needed! - cpikey316_ - 08-04-2015 Looking at cheapy 4x4 options, these two are both fully loaded and tick a lot of boxes. Opinions? http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201502120880530/sort/locasc/page/1/usedcars/model/cr-v/postcode/lu74ay/radius/10/onesearchad/used%2Cnearlynew%2Cnew/channel/cars/make/honda?logcode=p http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201502060739608/sort/locasc/page/1/usedcars/radius/10/onesearchad/used%2Cnearlynew%2Cnew/keywords/SVE/channel/cars/postcode/lu74ay?logcode=p can we avoid the "OMG GET THE NISSAN DIESEL LOLZ" comments please. I'd wager the mpg on the diesel are very conservative and i'd be far more likely to get the stated MPG on the petrol. RE: Which do I go see tomorrow! New car needed! - procta - 08-04-2015 nissans are a bomb to fix I have been told, so be wary of that one. the Honda looks good motor, can you not stretch to a disco? Don't touch anything to do with Jeep mind! RE: Which do I go see tomorrow! New car needed! - Poodle - 08-04-2015 Get the nissan imo, although i suspect you'll find both annoyingly plasticky. RE: Which do I go see tomorrow! New car needed! - Piggy - 08-04-2015 Toyota rav?? Dare I say it...suzuki vitara RE: Which do I go see tomorrow! New car needed! - cpikey316_ - 08-04-2015 Hondas are too! ![]() Discoveries look a bit long, im more in the small size 4x4! Suprisingly that Nissan is 20cm shorter than the Honda! RE: Which do I go see tomorrow! New car needed! - procta - 08-04-2015 or the new freelander, well the free lander 2 RE: Which do I go see tomorrow! New car needed! - Dum-Dum - 08-04-2015 I'd go for the nissan purely as it's a diesel and 4x4s eat fuel. If you could find a 2.2 CDTi Honda then get that, the honda is a good car. RE: Which do I go see tomorrow! New car needed! - cpikey316_ - 08-04-2015 tried a 2.2 honda, but seemed gutless. Might have been a dodgy one. Walked away as the dealer seemed desperate to get rid of it. Need to check Katie on the handbrake in the Honda, its a funny arrangement. That stated MPG is achievable with a light foot according to Honda forums. http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201411159014710/sort/default/postcode/lu74ay/model/cr-v/make/honda/page/1/radius/20/channel/cars/fuel-type/diesel/onesearchad/used%2Cnearlynew%2Cnew/price-to/4500/usedcars?logcode=p Been to the moon and back! Seems a LOT of money for that milage. RE: Which do I go see tomorrow! New car needed! - Dum-Dum - 08-04-2015 The 2.2 CRDi is a truly brilliant engine for the era, I've been in them in accords and civics and they f*cking shift. RE: Which do I go see tomorrow! New car needed! - cpikey316_ - 08-04-2015 They do! Shame the rest of my accord is a shed!! RE: Which do I go see tomorrow! New car needed! - cpikey316_ - 08-04-2015 Not liking the interior of the freelander. Theyre a bit early 90s poverty spec. RE: Which do I go see tomorrow! New car needed! - cpikey316_ - 08-04-2015 Too expensive Procta, got 2k and my Honda to trade in ![]() RE: Which do I go see tomorrow! My dad had one and it cost a stinking fortune to fix, not to mention sourcing parts, and getting some one to read the fucker too! He part exd it for the landy after it caused another problem with the alternator, laugh is now, the Jeep isn't on the road now! as we ran a check on it. So my parents had put well over 1400 down the drain, on suspension, two sensors and an alternator. RE: Which do I go see tomorrow! New car needed! - adam b - 08-04-2015 Real world 29mpg max at 70mph in the Honda. My folks have had one for years and drive really slowly.. It's not great off road but has been great for 30k miles. Subaru legacy old shape 2L. Unstoppable. RE: Which do I go see tomorrow! RE: Which do I go see tomorrow! New car needed! - Poodle - 09-04-2015 Those hyundai santa fe things are actually pretty good imo. Problem is all these are mostly designed for the shopping trolley market, so if you're actually going to use the 4x4 drive i'd take a look at some other options. RE: Which do I go see tomorrow! New car needed! - cpikey316_ - 09-04-2015 Not going to be heading into the wilderness, just want sometime to be ok on light snow for a nervous wife. Plus something higher up, so she can see more! That Santa Fe is less than 1 mile away, gonna go see it today. RE: Which do I go see tomorrow! New car needed! - chylledapps - 09-04-2015 My Biz partner has a Santa Fe, try and find the next generation to this one as much more comfortable and modern dash etc RE: Which do I go see tomorrow! New car needed! - THE_Liam - 09-04-2015 P38 RR, 3 grand gets a really tidy one! All 4x4s are shit on fuel, might as have a big one! http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1997-Land-Rover-Range-Rover-2-5-DSE-4dr-Auto-4-door-4-X-4-/121613572326?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item1c50bbd8e6 RE: Which do I go see tomorrow! New car needed! - cpikey316_ - 09-04-2015 Went to see a focus today, but the guy wants £1300 as well as my Honda. It struggled to get up a hill ![]() This Alfa is much cheaper. Plus i've always wanted one. RE: Which do I go see tomorrow! New car needed! - chylledapps - 09-04-2015 tested a couple and they are fab, always wanted an Alfa but never got around to it RE: Which do I go see tomorrow! New car needed! - Seb_Ryan - 09-04-2015 Chris get an alfa! Ive got a 156 now and its a bloody awesome place to be sat inside.. RE: Which do I go see tomorrow! New car needed! - cpikey316_ - 09-04-2015 What about when it goes wrong? ![]() I've heard stories of garages refusing to work on alfas! RE: Which do I go see tomorrow! New car needed! - Toms306 - 09-04-2015 That Alfa uses the GM engine unfortunately, I wouldn't have another after the Vectra. What engine was in the Focus to struggle up hill lol? Even the 1.6 TDCi can manage hills....as long as you drop a couple of gears. ![]() RE: Which do I go see tomorrow! New car needed! - cpikey316_ - 09-04-2015 1.8 tdci! I was in 5th, but it was on about 2k rpm! id expect diesel grunt to do something! RE: Which do I go see tomorrow! New car needed! - Toms306 - 09-04-2015 Diesel grunt? Its a 1.8TDCi... Not a 2.2 Honda! ![]() Seriously though, wouldn't bother with the 1.8 if you can help it. People only buy them to avoid DPFs...before realising how many other faults they have. ![]() |
