Pure porn.
I imagine that the ratios make it quicker to accelerate?

Hmm, that's not a T16. Mi16 Turbo maybe, but no T16.
**EDIT just read the description. Why would you fit a GTI6 manifold to a genuine T16 engine?

nope.
Think about it, if in 2nd gear youre doing 20mph at 2k, and 40mph at 4k, at 7k youre doing......
That statement above is largely a generalisation, but in essence the gearbox on a dt is waaaay longer, as you only have a short 'powerband' on a dt.
Therefore, it's actually a good idea on a high torque turbo engine, long gearing means you'll make the most of the mahoosive torque spread throughout the rev range.
fyi the reason the rotrex kids dont do this is because the rotrex is effectively a torque multiplier, ie it miltiplies the peak torque at any given rpm by a factor 'x'. meaning you still get quite a peaky power delivery, which is still well suited to a close-ratio box like the '6 box.

Either that or he just thought "well they've both got turbo in the name so it must be what I need. Wonder what the 'D' stands for though?"

Dturbo box is longer so it will have higher gearing, like Ed said probs to use all the torque.
If a dturbo is doing 70 in 3rd at about 4200 what's It doing at 7k?

It was an example Smartypants! I can't remember what 2nd gear is like on a dt!!
From hazy memory though, if you're doing 50 at 2k and 80 at 3k in 5th on a dt box, what speed are you doing at 7k?
LOOOOOOOONNNNNGGGGG Ratios!!!! *looks smug*

Ehh.. didn't know the DTub box was CVT? 50 at 2k and 80 at 3k? Progressively longer gears? Magic :geek:

oh alright, 3200, as I said, I'm doing this from memory, I havent driven a dt in nearly 2years!!! Though i'll admit that's a bit of a schoolboy error...
