Hi all i thought it was time to start one of these before i have too much to catch up on!

Bought the car in november 2013 off ebay for £995, got there and agreed on £950 on account of the wheels being in such a poor cosmetic condition.

Few pics:

[Image: 1461709_10153543551410487_2027024156_n_zpsc0c45b6d.jpg]

[Image: 1511313_10153580324700487_1183293335_n_zps71391b09.jpg]

It is cosmetically alright but with alot of 'small' bits needing attention and it is crying out for a new drivers seat as the original is trashed Sad but all in all a good base to start from and even with 160k miles on the clock it still puts out 169.9 on a dyno Smile engine runs well and gearbox is smooth(ish - not the best from very cold)

Anyways all i did was buy it and drive it untill the end of january 2014 when the clutch cable decided it had had enough and wanted out! so it was time to wheel the dturbo (now sold) out of the shed and begin some maintenance!

All done just in time for supper!

Car has been fairly problem free untill last weekend when it abandoned me 30 miles from home at the GF's place, Fuel cut off inertia switch and fuel pump relay both fried in the floods lol

So with it finally back home and running again i treated it too a little wash and a sneak peek at its new shoes while one of my sets of cyclones is being refurbished and powdercoated graphite grey Smile

[Image: 44CEBA6F-0415-4AAF-8FE3-3BBFC6CE25CE_zpshmb7mmmw.jpg]

MMMMM 16" TD Pro Race 1.2's Inlove they are also in line for the refurb treatment but as yet im not sure what colour to go for as they will be its summer / track wheels with suited tyres Undecided But black will do for now and i quite like the stealthy look of them ninja

[Image: 75FD030D-BD64-482F-B6E7-8E757FE8614C_zpscxfozg9n.jpg]

Thats all for now but i will be uipdating this regularly with possibly some not-so boring bits so watch this space Smile

Looks good man, decent price too Smile. Nice wheels, I had black 1.2s on my old black DT. Pete had some in red on his black '6 a long time ago, I think that looked awesome, I'll see if I can find a picture. May as well do something a bit special if they're going to be more track orientated wheels though...

Good strong wheels and good brake clearance

I prefer the stealthy approach if im honest, im yet too be pulled over in the rallye and i dont think having bright orange or lime green 'track' wheels (when the car is going to be predominantly for road use) would keep that track record lol

In complete honesty i quite despise this whole 'road legal track car' scene thats going on at the moment when 99% of the cars never see a track day! My rallye is for spirited driving and very very occasional track use so i think the pro races will be going graphite grey or staying black.

Small update:

After turning up to the Bicester meet with the rallye looking very very sorry for itself (3 weeks of road grime and mud) i decided enough was enough so stayed on after work to give it a good going over..

FAO: RetroPug... Its a real rallye! lol

[Image: 4F08B9EA-A6DE-4A38-B33A-5C03CEF8A03E_zpsglfkxwxb.jpg]

[Image: 389F765A-2155-4F60-9B77-BADB3E490296_zpssae02mbw.jpg]

Then i set about tackling something that had been plauging the rallye all week...

Long story short, the wipers packed up in the middle of one of the rainiest weeks recently, i shall never take wipers for granted again! absolutely lethal not being able to clear the screen.

Thanks to Zakk (ozonehostile) the problem was diagnosed as a f*cked wiper motor! managed to get one for free off a mates dad Big Grin bargain!

As its my only car with tax at the moment i am relying on the rallye to get me from a-b so at around 11pm in the dark and rain i took a torch outside and set about changing my wiper motor, Zakks instructions were spot on! cant thank him enough Big Grin

This was the scene:

[Image: E0CAF4F8-386D-4123-BF6B-04F8CFB6FE32_zps3iusiooj.jpg]

All sorted now and working better than ever before in my ownership Big Grin

That's because the sellers have had a long, hard winter of lying under it on cold concrete in the pissing rain...speaking from experience lmao

I drove this, and for a 165k engine it still pulls like a train, absolute credit to Peugeot the old Xu10j4rs :-D

Glad the wiper motor sorted it out, must've been getting annoying having to stop every few miles to clear the screen lmao

It definately got driven Wink was nice to be in the passenger seat after doing 170 miles in it lol

Clicked it over too 166k the other day Wink think its deserving a gear oil change and a service very soon lol

Stopping ever 100 yrds was getting very tedious indeed, so nice to flick a switch and not worry about it now though Big Grin Very keen for this evening and viewing a GTi-6 Wink

I think also alot of people are put off owning a 2.0 petrol due to the price of fuel... my personal opinion of this is that petrol is never going to get any cheaper so now is the BEST time to own a massive engined petrol Smile

Exactly that, I intend to use as much petrol as possible while it's still under £2 a litre :-P

Yeah I'm defo gonna buy a GTi-6 and just keep it as my daily driver, besides it's cheaper for me on insurance so with fuel and stuff been taken into play, it'll be the same for me to run a 1.4 so might as well have a 2.0 for the same cost! Just better thinking that way instead of oh wait, small engine, cheap to run, EEEEEEE Wrong! Not the case with me!

Nice car mate but your mad working on it in the rain at night, I'm glad I have access to garage with electric.
Picked a gti6 up from reading for my dad last week there and back I used £30 of diesel he used £30 just the way back Undecided
But I think the same as you while I'm young and fuel is under £2 I'm going to get the full experience of a petrol for a bit had diesel for 2 years now.

Thats why I love gti6/rallye so much, alot of people don't realise they did a hot version of the 306 so just makes them that much cooler

Precisely this Big Grin someone at the bus station in hereford last night was adamant that my rallye was a 1.6 8v just like the 106's lol

I just let him carry on thinking that, he will think its the most amazing 1600cc ever when it goes flying past him lmao

My Ph.2 didn't have any badges other than 'Peugeot', was super stealth mode!

My car's 17 tomorrow.... zipping past repmobiles in what most people view as a old banger and seeing their faces doesn't ever get old...
