Quick favour from everybody. I took some photos of my stepmums cats earlier with the intention of getting one of the photos printed out in A3 and framed for her, as a birthday present. I took like 30 photos but heres the shortlist, which one do you think is best?

My dad got a new camera just before XMAS, Canon 600d. So we have both been out and playing with the settings. I am enjoying it just as much as he is Smile

Remote shutter with lock FTW Big Grin

ISO100, F9.5, 15(ish) mins exposure (which was then followed by 15 mins of noise reduction which makes me sad Sad ) Just looked, it was 901 seconds exposure Tongue

Hmm, im going to have to look into that  so you just stand there next to your camera with your finger on the remote shutter for 15 mins, or is there an on/off slider which you just slide to 'on' and it opens the shutter for aslong as its in the on position? Confuzzled a little bit, but I like the sound of it Smile

Camera in manual and shutter set to "bulb", it locks on, otherwise the orb would have been hard Tongue

I only take pics of the cars.....and only have a camera phone, but these are still pretty cool imo. Smile BTW, does anyone else use a HTC with a 5mp camera, not sure if its set up wrong but I can't seem to take a decent pic with it!

@ Tom, you "can't take a decent pic with it" because it is a phone camera with a tiny little lens and sensor! what do you expect! having said that the last lot I posted (18th December) were all off my phone so maybe its just you Tongue

Dan! Wrote:Awesome. Bought, paid for, on its way Big Grin Love you :romance-inlove:

Enjoy Big Grin, just don't trash the sensor in your camera by using the wrong settings like high iso or wide open aperture on silly long exposures Smile

Yeah I know they're not gonna be great, but the one of the angel eye, and the one near the customs boat were both taken with a crappy old samsung with a 2MP camera iirc....so surely the brand new 5MP one should be a bit better than those lol.

Nooooo......lol! the noise reduction software onboard is usually not great! and just takes up time, batteries and all that. Fantastic stuff though! what type of pyromaniac sparklers were you using?

Just a wee warning to all you lot experimenting with long exposures, its better when its cold out. If it's a hot night and you take an exposure for 15min + lengths, it the heat generated by the camera can damage the sensor if your taking lots of shots. Just a word of advice
