Why would there be? The body is treated. Mine has just ticked over 242K and you'll only find rust in the massive stone chips and places in the bay where water collects.

Treated with what? Have you seen the size of my hole!? Confused

You're alright with a ph3 hatch, but earlier cars and estates only have a half arsed one-quarter liner in the rear arch. So over the years as the mud sticks up there and its constantly damp it just rots right through.

But on topic....this is looking pretty good tbh Vaughn. Big Grin

Bit of a crazy update here so brace yourselves.

I had to change Amies battery and heater control valve, so she offered to fit my number plate surround for me.

Wish I hadn't of said yes, it's not even on straight!!

There's more than chance, for the price I paid for it I will run it into the ground, I'll keep it as a first, second, third car whatever because even if it was just completely standard - it is beyond useful, and throws out 60mpg all day long no matter how much stuff you throw in the back!

Found this to give really clear guide of what you need. Going to mock it up later with what pipes I've got and see where I get.
When I fit it ill document it all properly

So my 2 week holiday starts tomorrow, beginning with an early trip up to KrisB.

I did the Xsara mist jet upgrade at last, such a difference!

Untitled by 306ep, on Flickr

Also made a special effort to clean my boot, anyone that had previously seen it would know it is a moving shed, was starting to get a bit annoying!
Untitled by 306ep, on Flickr

So over the next 2 weeks I have the following to do:
Monday:
- lower rear beam
- properly de cat, cut it open get the rest of the shit out and weld up

Tuesday:
- fit FMIC in
- load on st2 limited torque map

Wednesday:
- fit boost gauge
- fit manual boost controller

Thursday:
- clutch replacement if its arrived by then

Friday:
- 302mm brake upgrade
- take it for a bloody good drive, then rest over the weekend

Then spend the next week just ironing out any issues I come up with!

Sorry, not really been up to scratch with this. So a few weeks ago I went to go and pick up some Challengers and some Nimrods from Jamie/Ryan. Currently got the Nimrods on but will be going Challengers once they've had a refurb etc.
I've managed to get a fair bit done but sort of taken a step backwards at the moment as I needed to take the inlet pipe back off to get it drilled and tapped.
So far I've fitted:
-FMIC
-Boost gauge
-MBC

I had a little bit of an issue last week with the MBC, I had used Mikalor style clamps and all done up well.. took it out for the first run, warmed up then went full throttle full boost... the needle went off the gauge, so at least 30psi... stopped pretty quickly, checked it and the hose had come off so I assume caused massive overboost, and slightly lifted the head.
Anyway that's all okay now.

Ive still got the clutch & turbo to fit, but that will come soon hopefully..

Looks good mate, loving the overspray on the wheels! lmao

Gonna look pretty epic on challengers i reckon, and the FMIC should make it a little less "grandad-y". Though personally, i like estates, and still regret not getting one when i bought my DT.

Keep up the good work mate, you certainly dont seem to be hanging around with this! Big Grin
