Updated Spec: 19/03/12
Lot of you know me already, thought I'd get a project up on here that I can keep track of.
Little background info: car started on a Lucas, loads of service history, heater matrix went within first week of owner ship so changed that, other then that a standard black DTurbo.
Spec to date - 26/12/12:
- FMIC (2.25" piping)
- Xantia inlet manifold
- Black Cyclones
- Gov'd/LDA'd Bosch
- T25 @ 28PSI (No Filter & welded WG)
- Straight through to Cherry Bomb
- 2 X Slim line fans
- Chavtastic sub woofer, amp, 6x9's etc
- 266 Brakes
Stored parts:
- Cone Air Filter x 2
- Xantia 2.25" black plastic & rubber piping
- 40mm lowering springs
- Throttle cable kit
- Lucas pump setup
- Bosch setup
- Manual boost controller
- EGR Blanking plate (Mark_Airey special)
- T2
Wanted parts:
- Bigger cone filter / BMC CDA
- Custom intake piping
Future plans are to get some bigger brakes on, get the FMIC plumbed in, turn the boost up to 24~30 PSI (along with increasing the fuel obviously) and possibly if funds permit pay someone to weld a bigger turbo on.
Heres an old picture, I need to get some new ones soon:
The beast of a FMIC that arrived today (what have I done lol)!?
Can fits in the inlet/oulet:
Comparison against a beer:
Comparison against a 32" TV:
Any comments good or bad welcomed.

You'd be surprised...
It didn't look so big in the advert.
It's defiantly bigger then the twin pass I had on my HDi anyhow (which I thought was a killer)!
In honesty I'm worried its not going to fit...
Heres a pic of my old HDi's twin pass:

Update, running T2 @ 25 (ish) PSI and obviously up'ed the fueling.
Gotta 0-70 video short shifting before 5k obviously .
Also gotta video of me driving away from camera for the exhaust sound.

Cheers Matt.
Uh not sure Foxy, could do with a GTi6 beam before my MOT on 23rd as the drums are shagged anyway.
Not something I've done before though so don't really want to tackle a job I might not be able to finish.

Sounds good to me!
I've got some 40mm springs, do you have a spring compressor by any chance?

I don't have a spring compressor, but I may look into getting some so that I can do more in the future.

Sweet, well my MOT is due on the 23rd of March so not planning on doing any major mod's until after that. So I'll keep you updated.
Really need some complete front brakes, will take 266 or 283's but must come complete for direct replacement.

I see what you mean, think thats just the way the cameras making it look. Theres defiantly not a dent there.
Possibly Mark, I just feel once I start chucking parts at it I'm going to be stuck with it.
As much as I like it I'd love one with less miles on the clock and better paint/body.
Sensible option is to keep it of course.

New purchase! http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/140713443866
Image of new purchase:
Need some recommendations on inlet manifold gaskets please guys. Am I right in thinking ph1 DHY would use a double gasket for exhaust and inlet or is it likely to be singles?
Cheers guys!
