I can vouch for this.....but you also struggle with knowing which lane to be in! I was glad the '6 driver behind me was paying attention, or he'd have ended up in my boot! I must admit, i struggled to keep up with your golf, but my dtub is not real yet, as it doesnt coal properly! Gotta get on the tuning ASAP. Keep up the good work though Tom, im sure you'll fathom the boost hoses soon enough, and forget the haters....for a golf, this looks quite good!

Haha, I can't apologise enough for that wrong lane panic.... was lucky there! But it wasn't as bad as the people infront jumping the hatchings across roundabout lanes tho! You struggled to keep up with the golf as standard with a boost leak.....you'd like it more now then Haha! . Tbd though, you did have a full car and I only had myself lol. I've done the boost hoses now.....and the remap!

Also, bet I still get better mpg than you do Edit - Also Im surprised you'd be mates with anyone that owned a mk4!
27-03-2012, 01:41 PM
Bet mine still works out cheaper than yours on veg though, better MPG or not I also have a HDi box which lowers the final drive by about 500rpm in every gear so that helps with the MPG as well as giving a chronic gap between 2nd and 3rd
My brother is a VW fanboy so I know quite a few people through him

I could never run veg though, even if i had a car that would! Hdi box doesnt have enough gears, 6 speed is where its at. Although I still keep going for 7th cruising on the motorway lol.

Was this when we got near woodbridge on the last meet... and one lane went left and carried up the motorway and a whole load of you were in the right lane for town and went over the hatchings anyway? Knew it was going to happen as soon as I saw you in my rear view declantg Wrote:Martlesham, i dont think its that fair tbh, can picture it in my head Dec its where we went to Tesco twice!

Yeah that's right lol, my mate in the Nile xs went over the hatchings infront of me so I tried to get in the left lane before the roundabout......and nearly ended up with 'nutz up my arse. hock:

Golf 1.8Ts are good but they are thirsty little beasts if you drive them in anger all the time (which I would). Best place that engine found a home was in the Audi TT 225 and the Seat Leon Cupra R. MK4 Golfs didn't handle all that great.
Leads me on to my next question homeslice; will you be 'slamming' the Golf in a vein attempt to try and get the short attention of a female? Will you use the word 'stance' in conversations at the pub in the near future? Or are you keeping it sensible? Disclaimer: The above is not to be taken to heart and is probably a joke, grow up you big girl.

There is no danger of him doing anything different, he's miserable like you in fact you would make the perfect couple, maybe you should get his number.............................

Nah Tom likes 5 doors. I have a kiddie on the way and still bought a 3door car, despite the protest from literally everyone around me.

HOWEVER, to try and make the handling better while retaining practicality and comfort I will be lowering it a bit, only 40mm or so though......but cant afford it for a while.

Mmm, forgot how nice it is to polish and wax a car after a crap day, nice and shiny now!
[attachment=3] [attachment=2] [attachment=1] [attachment=0] Note the oc sticker. Should be going to the dubgen meet tomoro so hopefully it stays clean! Plans now are - Fit boost guage Fit catch tank Full service (oil, filter, fuel filter, pollen filter) Decide what I'm doing about air filter...tempted by a cone just for the noise lol, with CAF. Brakes - either bleed or replace fluid as they're not as sharp as on the silver golf despite the pads and discs only being 1k miles old. New centre caps Swap tyres from bora alloys on to montys Decat? Paint calipers Eventually...... Spoiler Lowerage Different wheels
