I guess the list starts with a wash
16-03-2015, 01:25 PM
List starts with a wash, visit too the paintless dent removal guy then a full paint correction and detail. Cant afford a full respray this year and got too many other commitments so will have to work with what ive got.
Im welding it up this week as im sick of waiting for 'professionals' to do it who keep pissing around and letting me down. Needs an axle and lowering all round then just gonna give the underside the underseal treatment. Still need loads more on top but that should get it through an mot and get it looking somewhat tidy. Also gotta slap a timing belt on it and the mandatory water pump etc.

FFS Matt chuck a bucket over it
You should definitely get the megane out on track at combe Astor 6 Fast road/track project
16-03-2015, 01:52 PM
Pah it'll have a wash soon
Meggy will be at spring action day but not on track, its a daily and i cant afford to wreck it although i would love to really test it out at least once

I've yet to meet a welder that's capable of following through with a booking or not overshooting a deadline by anything less than two weeks... Good to see this making a return to the fore, is she mot'd and taxed and ready to roll? Should stretch her legs down this way for pugrun next month.

Unfortunately shes all out of legalness now chaps wont be long untill shes sorted just time and finances hindering progress currently
28-03-2015, 10:16 AM
Right then. Better get this sorted hadn't i.
Jobs to do: Change axle Sort dash bulbs Abs sensor Finish welding Bleed brakes MOT, tax & insure it... It's gonna be an expensive month before pug run

Worth a check for sure, hopefully the welding on yours won't stretch any further than the hole in the floor.
Although if my sill replacement works out I might be able to offer a service haha

Hope you get it sorted.

I urge anyone to look at the area where the chassis legs meet the bulkhead, inside and outside the car. My strongbow-piss gti6 looked ok (well with a bit of welding on the main rails) until the carpet came out.

Been a busy few days..
from this: (how its been since october last year!) To this: Finally got my ass into gear, dragged it out the shed and after a brief blip up the road.. have a renewed ambition to get it to pugfest this year. so gave it a wash and polish. unfortunately the 'dry' (read: Damp & Humid) storage it has been in has wrecked the paintwork on the bonnet and drivers wing, luckily i have a spare onyx wing and ozone has a bonnet for me so it should be looking ok(ish) for pugfest, just need to change axle, weld the sills, change strut tops & replace all bulbs and she should be good for MOT. might need some better discs and pads up front, i still cant get used to a car now without brembos

No reason why it shouldn't be ready now you've got a unit on the estate
II'm sure a weekend on my ramp will sort most of it out, could tell you've found the enthusiasm for it again from the huge grin on your face when you came around the other day
